       Photo Posting tips

Ok, today I learned that not all image sites play fair!!! LOL!!
Image Shack is messing with Tania...but I think we have it
figured out. And...I suspect a couple tips on posting our
photos are in order anyway. So here goes.
Image sites like photobucket and image shack typically provide
you links to sites like facebook/twitter/forums. Photobucket's
work fine and in fact already has the img /img (note: img and
/img are surrounded by [], but if I put them in...they
disappear) imbedded for you. So just grab their link and paste
it into the post...viola...photo is in!
Image Shack is a little trickier. The image code is not
imbedded. You will need to use the photo icon
       (
  HTML http://images.smfboards.com/caf/images/bbc/img.gif)
       or type in
img /img (with the appropriate brackets). You cannot grab their
link...I'm not sure what that links to, but it won't get us to
your photo. You need to grab the DIRECT link. There are two
ways to get it. One, select the information button (i button)
and you'll see the DIRECT option. Two, select the photo. Then
right-click on it and grab "Copy Image Location" from the menu.
Then you can paste that info in between the ][. I posted this
       photo using Image Shack:
  HTML http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg856/scaled.php?server=856&filename=img19231.jpg&res=medium[/img]
And lastly...no matter where the photo is on the
internet...blog, facebook, other gallery...You can always get
its location. It just depends on what browser you are using.
For Internet Explorer (IE), just right click on the actual photo
       and select "Copy Shortcut"
For Firefox: just right-click on the actual photo and select
"Copy Image Location" from the menu.
Then paste that info into img /img (gotten from the photo icon
  HTML http://images.smfboards.com/caf/images/bbc/img.gif)
       and you
       should be good to go.
Side note...I know we won't have everything in a central
location for easy viewing...it is a side effect of doing this
low budget. And some of you might be missing the "favorites"
option. I'm going to make a suggestion, and I know some of you
have their fingers in their ears, but just "pin" your favorites
onto your own personal board. This is what I'll be doing.
       Pinterst pinterest.com
  HTML http://pinterest.com
is easy to use. It does require a facebook
or twitter login, but you don't actually have to use those
applications. I now pin what inspires me from
       blogs/manufacturer sites/here. You can also follow me...and
       some of you do!

Thanks for the pointers Janet, with your help my page has been
posted successfully, and I have to say I love the idea of
pinning our favorites, I'm going to set up a separate little pin
board on mine for just Scrap n chat favorites. I do think
though we need to be sure with everyone being ok with their
pages being pinned, it does put them in to a very public forum,
where others can not only see them, but pin them and such.
Pinterest etiquette states that you should never pin without
informing the original creator ... actually if you read the very
detailed bylaws of pinterest it's all there. I for one have to
problem with someone pinning my pages.

Good tips. Just a reminder you put things in a public
       forum/domain its available.

Good point. I wonder if you can make a private pin board.
