Decorated treat bags...really?!?!?
I am NOT spending time decorating a treat bag for kids to rip
apart and trash!
And...do I ever give treat bags to adults??? NO!
So...is this craze just because they have run out of things to
alter. Or a result of stay at home moms with WAY to much time
on their hands.
Ok...my soap box moment...sometimes I just don't get the latest
craze.

I look at them and say "cute" but I wouldn't take the time to
make them.

I'm guilty ... sort of. When my daughter was little I never
"crafted" anything for her birthday parties really, especially
treat bags because like you said, they rip them open, no thought
to what went in to making them. However this Valentines Day I
crafted and created 75 little lollipop wrappers, they were
stamped with different polka dot patterns and punched for a
ribbon tie at the top. Basically you stood the lollipop on its
head inside of the holder, then ran the ribbon through the
punched holes at the top and tied it around the lollipop keeping
it in place. I then decorated each stamped holder with punched
hearts that I added white stitch lines to with a pen, and
stamped Valentine messages on each. They were so cute ... and
gosh don't I wish I had done them when my girl was little, it
was so worth the time and effort. My husband took the majority
of them to the kids in his classroom on V-Day and my daughter
took the remaining pops in holders to work with her at the
grocery store. From what I've been told, everyone loved them,
and the kids in my husbands class are still talking about them.
The majority took them home to "show mom" according to the hubs
and some of the kids are asking me to write out instructions so
they can make their own next year. Made me smile ... even
though I'm sure some of the kids just ripped them off and then
threw away the handmade holders, just knowing that a few loved
them was good enough for me.

I'm guilty.... I know they rip it up but it's fun to look at
their faces when they get it. I do it for all special occasios.

I love the look of them but I haven't made any. Not saying I
won't ever do it but it does seem like a waste of expensive
scrapbooking paper that is going to be tossed into the trash.
