Milie, all you really neat to get started is a couple of colors
in the same color scheme, and a blender pen, though the you can
color without it just by mixing the colors that are close, you
don't want to go to far out though and try to mix say a green
with a red ... you'll most likely end up with brown. You want
to stick with a light green, another green a couple of shades
darker and than one more green even darker than the middle one.
It's helps with the contrast, though I find it easier to work
with two colors, most of the better coloring artists uses tons
of colors to get the look they are hoping for.

Ohh good info! Well the kit I bought her had like 1 in each
color! So I guess she needs a few in each color to make it work
nicely.. we bought a blender pen , but is it a special copic
blender pen? I also read somewhere you need special paper?

You can buy special paper ... I use a heavier weight water color
paper, or stamping paper works well too. I also use Neenah
Solar White paper (www.neenahpaper.com or www.ellenhutson.com) ,
I buy wherever I find the best pricing (I've never found it
locally and have always ordered it). There is another one called
"Gina K Pure Luxury" which many people love as they feel the
Copics don't bleed through as badly, you can only but it direct
from www.ginakdesigns.com. In the past I have ordered from
Papertrey Ink as well, they are a stamping company and they sell
sets of copics (3 pens in each I believe) as well, their paper
is a nice fit with the pens. I also use Memento Black Ink when I
first stamp my image to color in, it doesn't blend or bleed when
the copics touch it. Remember to color in small circles ... it
helps to provide the best overall color coverage.
Practice makes perfect.

No, but I'm not a stamper. I think I only own about 4 stamps and
they go on the BACK of the card. LOL

I don't have any but I have thought about it.
Can you write with them for journaling? Or are they mostly for
coloring?
