When you decide to take a road trip on the spur of the moment (
a couple of days ahead of time) how much pre-planning do you do?
or do you just throw stuff in the car and take off to discover
as you go?

I'm a planner, too. No spontaneous trips here, unless you count
going to see DD on the spur of the moment. She lives 2.5 hours
away.

Both here too. Depends on the kind of trip (overnight?) and
who/what we're going to see....
