       Feb Vellum Frame
By: phyllis Date: February 1, 2014, 4:55 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Hi All. Every month I hope to challenge you to do something new
or at least a new way to do it. I have pages with different
techniques to last the rest of the year. I am going to include
directions where they are needed. Some of the pages will have
pictures and some won't. Some months I'll have two different
ideas with the same technique, but not always. This month is
Vellum! Our first 2pg layout has a cute frame and an envelope on
it. Here are the directions. Feel free to ask questions. Here
       goes!
Pg 1 Vellum Frame. I started with a 11x11 piece of pink
vellum. Turn it to where the points are pointing up, down, and
sideways. Top & bottom: Start at the top point and measure down
       and mark with pencil; 1 1/8", 2 1/4", 3 3/8". Now the sides from
       the point: 1 1/4", 2 5/8", 4 1/8". Fold on all marks. Kind of
like a fan fold. Cut a piece of print vellum 7"x 8 1/2". Glue
to center. Cut 4 pieces of print vellum to fit the middle folds.
Glue all folds down with vellum tape. Glue Vellum Frame to a
piece of 8"x 9 1/2" cardstock. Do corners. Add a mat or pic to
       center.
I also added a strip of pink vellum to the edge of the heart
       background.
Pg 2 Vellum envelope: Cut a 6"x8" piece of vellum. Lay with
the 6" from side to side. Measure 3" across the top, mark. And
3" down each side. Cut from the top mark down to the side marks.
Now fold both sides in 1 1/2". Fold the bottom up 3 1/4". Cut
the bottom part of envelope into a V to match the bottom layer.
Cut a little bit smaller than envelope white piece of paper.
       Insert.
I added a strip of vellum to background and used printed vellum
       as mats!
Enjoy! I will post a new vellum idea around the 15th!

Thanks everyone! The frame is one of my favorites. You can use
any color or printed vellum. If you don't have vellum, you can
use paper. Have fun with it!
