When you start a layout do you usually use card stock or
patterned paper as your base? Why?

I almost always use PP for my base. I feel it gives a more
colorful feel to the layout. I use card stock as a base only
when the pp I want to use is too thin. Then I just leave a
little bit of card stock showing to frame it.

I usually go for PP and build from there. PP adds depth and
color. Every now and then I'll make my own background sometimes
c/s but mostly PP.

I used to only use cardstock, but now I use both. It just
depends on the project and the look I am going for.

I think mostly pp because then I use the cardstock as the matte
for the photo. This is where I have my trouble with the
layering as mentioned in the post about what we would like to
learn, because the mixing & matching of the pp is where I often
struggle.
