Happy Valentine's Day!
Here is a question to test your brain a bit...Do you think that
we as a society rely too much on modern conveniences/technology?
Why or why not?

I can speak for myself..... YES I DO!
My iPad is in my hands from the time I get home from work until
I go to bed! I FaceTime with family, play games, surf the
web......
My iPhone is on me all the time. Don't have a landline anymore.
My TV, my computer, I use them more than I use books, writing
instruments, etc.
I am glad I live in this century!

Actually running water and indoor plumbing makes it all good.
And electricity. I'm down with that. The rest of it is icing on
the cake. I like icing too . ;)

I hear that...it is wonderful. But I wonder if we are losing
our self-reliant, can-do attitude. I remember when everyone had
a garden in their backyards...hardly anyone does around here and
I live in farm country (Iowa). I was at my Dad's a couple of
weekends ago, and we were all playing with technology instead of
each other.
As much as I appreciate the technology and the resources it
allows us access to, I wonder what it is doing to us as a
society.

I always laugh - and thank goodness cell service isn't available
at the house.... (99%) Think of all the money we have saved on
phones, etc... I have a GoPhone I have been using since I think
07/08. And I don't turn it on unless I have to...out of the
office.. on the road....$25 every 3 months.....

I think hubby and I keep it in check, but his job as a database
administrator kind of un-does what we try to keep out of the
household. now DD, she is ALL ABOUT technology. My favorite
evenings are still sitting at the dining room table with family
and friends and playing a board game or cards. but yes, I can
cook on a fire, but prefer my oven and microwave. ;D

I think Janet is right we are so reliant on the modern
technology I worry if something major happens But I can cook on
a fire also and I have a survivor attude so I would be okay I
think.

For my Feb Family Dinner Day I'd planned on taking the family
pic with everyone having their cell phone, ipad, kindle, etc in
their hands. I ended up snapping the pic in a rush so we didn't
do that, but for March I'm so doing it.
I admit, I've been in my room watching tv in the past & sent a
text to my daughter down the hall to say "goodnight". LOL
