       Words of Wisdom...

I'm thinking about starting a board where we can share our
       little tidbits of wisdom...
I've been thinking lately about excuses. I have the grand daddy
one of all them...my mom died. I don't like using
excuses...they make me feel like I'm out of integrity with
       myself. Ya know?
       I'm not dieting because...
I didn't get that done because...
       I'm not exercising because...
As much as the excuse is real, it is still being used to break a
commitment. So I started thinking...excuses are just concerns
or issues that are not addressed. I need to deal with the issue
or concern, so that it doesn't turn into an excuse again. And
when the time calls for it...just own up that I'm not able to do
       something.
Anyway...just my two-bits. I'm rambling here 'cause there is no
one at home to hear me! LOL! Sorry!

Agreed, I think I use excuses to avoid doing something I don't
want to do for numerous reasons. I use excuses to buy time until
I can cope with a situation. I also use excuses because I think
what I have decided about a situation is not what the other
person wants to hear from me. To me,they are crutches, used by me
to get to my destination eventually.Just like the real
thing{crutches} I am clumsy with them and would rather walk by
myself. I sometimes ask myself, Why can't I say that I plain
don't want to do "that" right now?

Excuses ... we've all used them ... I have plenty of them stored
in my little closet for "those days" we just struggle with. I
think it's OK every once in awhile to use them, as long as we
don't become dependant on them and the more legitimate the
excuse the better. Like ... "Sorry I'm late, there was a ton of
traffic" is better than "Sorry I'm late, I just couldn't drag my
fat bum out of bed in time to get ready and arrive on time
without killing someone on the way". It's human to use excuses
... don't feel to bad about it.
       ;D

good grief. the excuse I have HAD to use --
"I'm moving" :-X truth, but it doesnt make me feel better
about things I've missed out on for having blahblahblah to do.
I like telling the truth sometimes actually, though not to hurt
anyone's feelings. Like for example, "well, I didn't do ABC or
XYZ - because I was too lazy". and followed up with "sorry to be
a lazy procrastinator". I mean, I think it can happen to
everyone, unless of course it's just me and then I'll just shut
       my pie hole over here  :D ;D :D :o :D ;D ::)
