December Scraplift 2012

Hello Ya'll!!! October and November have been rough for me but I
am finally feeling better and finding some mojo. I have come up
with a slightly different scraplift challenge for you this
month. I am in the midst of gift making right now at home as
well as at work for the holidays. I found a great little
tutorial on how to make a mini book out of a plain ol' office
manila folder.

My challenge for you is to make a mini or make a layout
featuring some mini pages and post them back here.
I know some of you are thinking, "I don't have time for a mini,
woman!!" I can honestly tell you, I made my sample in less than
90 minutes. I have to go back and embellish it some more, but
since I don't know which photos I will use in it, I am leaving
it blank for now.

I decided for my own book I wanted more pages. So I made the
mini twice and then glued the back cover of the first one to the
front cover of the second one. Then I attached the ribbon tie
before I layered the decorative papers on the covers. If you do
this just remember to leave a little extra ribbon so the mini
book will expand as you fill it up with your goodies in the
pockets. I learned this one the hard way on a mini I made at the
beginning of the summer. LOL!!

Resa, I just did this! My cousin had been diagnosed with cancer
and was really feeling under the weather and overwhelmed with
sadness. I wanted to make something for her that would remind
her of her blessings, so I made this little booklet (out of a
manila folder). She loved it! Like you said, it was very easy,
the hard part was finding only a few photos to put in it out of
all the good photos I had of her and her family. I used scraps
of Webster's Pages paper.
