       Scraplift - Sept 2012
By: Resa Date: August 31, 2012, 11:17 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Ok folks. I have a double whammy for you this month, a layout
and a technique in one. I found this layout on Two Peas created
by Fevvers. Here is her own explanation:
[sub]Every so often we are faced with challenging photos to
scrap, and that is exactly what I encountered when putting
       together this page.
Last week my daughter snapped these blurry photos of my husband
and me sharing a sundae and goofing around – just being us.
Rather than let the fact that they are blurry photos (or that
I'm wearing purple and he's wearing green) deter me from
scrapping these, I let the “blur” become the inspiration for the
journaling and the colors become the foundation of the layout.
To create the background, I misted a sheet of subtly patterned
paper (from My Mind's Eye) with colors that are similar to what
we are wearing in the photo. I then cut the 12 x 12 sheet into
sections and reassembled it, not really worrying about being
exact. I sewed around it, and then added a large square of
vellum over it, to create a kind of “blur”, softening the impact
of the color in the process. I built the rest of the layout upon
the vellum, adding accents and using pink and aqua to bridge the
       gap between purple and green.
The journaling, which was inspired by the “blur” in the photos,
reflects on how life can move by quickly, in a blur, but love
can bring it into focus. I tucked additional journaling (a
letter to my husband) behind the layout in a vellum envelope.
       [/sub]

Your challenge this month is to scraplift this layout with or
       without the "blur" effect.
       Have fun!!
