Fuchsia Petals on Phantom Wings (Touko Prologue) Thread

Figured i'd make a thread since I've finally started writing
again. I've actually had ideas coming through my head again so i
figured I'd share them.
The first four chapters are still available on FF and Ao3.

As you know, Touko Fuchsia is a character I created that is
present in SoHSotP, being a teacher at Beacon who has a
mysterious past. While this will eventually be brought up in the
main story, I felt it was important to see how she was before
the events of that story, taking place in the time period of 10
years before V1 up through slightly before V4. I would consider
this canon to SoHSotP, but events in that story's interpretation
of V1-V3's events might conflict in some areas, I'm not a
psychic.
Touko's team is Team FNTM, a team who consists of a tricky
outdoorsman, a stealthy assassin, a novice scientist and a
friendly mutt. They tend to be a support style team, as their
semblances have a higher focus on stealth or defense with the
Exception of Merri.
Important Characters:
Verdan Forrest (Formerly Forrest Verdane but oops there's
already a Forrest in RWBY)
The Leader of Team FNTM, a brash outdoorsman who ran away from
his family and has been living in the wilderness of Vale's
countryside. He was scouted by law enforcement after he
accidentally trapped a few policemen when hunting for food. He
refused to name his weapon, finding naming an inanimate object
to be senseless, but it is a mixture of a bo-staff and a blowgun
that shoots concentrated blasts of Gravity dust.
His semblance is Short Range Teleporation, a useful talent for
confusing prey, its exactly what it says on the tin. Though it
isn't instantaneous, when he disappears its more that he folds
space just enough to move faster than light, and the longer a
distance he needs to take, the longer he disappears. It goes
without saying that this is hell on his already somewhat slim
aura pool.
In a sense, he is somewhat similar to Tarzan with a hint of
specifically First Blood John Rambo.
Noa Greyvin
A voluptuous girl with ashen hair, A temptress and seductive
beauty with a heart of ice. She doesn't talk about her past, but
indicates that if you knew she would have to kill you. Appears
to have gotten into Beacon fraudulently using underworld
connections, her weapons are dust infused knives she lovingly
calls Crimson Fingers, despite being neither red nor actually
fingers. Getting hit with one of these will leave just enough
burn dust under your skin to make you writhe in pain, just what
she needs to close the distance between you and your death.
Despite all this she's actually kind of nice.
Her semblance is Silence, as any assassin knows, silence is
golden. But in this case its gray, as Noa can suppress the noise
of her footsteps, her laughter, and anything she touches,
including the screams of her victims. Don't worry though, she
only uses these powers for good (Her words, nobody elses). Very
useful for getting around dangerous Grimm as well.
She's like Jack the Ripper, but without the murdering of
prostitutes or misty London streets to loiter in.
Touko Fuchsia
The protagonist, only child and heir to the creatively named
Fuchsia Foundation. Touko is a sheltered girl born to a nutjob
of a father and a mother who is both distant and over-protective
at the same time. More is said about her in the future, but at
this point in time she is a novice huntress, getting into Beacon
through nepotism rather than merit, she (attempts to) wield
Carnation, a spear she created after sneaking out to Patch and
observing a weapons building class at Signal Academy. She
believes she wants to be a Huntress, but her skills deem her
more in the realm of a scientist, becoming very adept at mixing
dust and creating alternative ammunition for weaponry. Her
genuinely awful skill places her at odds with her more talented
teammates, but they'll have to learn to work as a team or die
trying.
Her semblance is Total Defense, an amplification of Aura's
natural regenerative properties, this one shields her from
attacks, but she needs to focus it or she risks it breaking to
pieces. She mostly uses it to protect herself from the numerous
misfires in creating Dust Ammunition, it can get quite volatile.
Her allusion in her youth, befitting her future. Is more in line
with The Phantom of the Opera before all the bad shit happened,
or Alex Murphy. She's really not seen how cruel the world can be
yet.
Merri Plumm
A friendly purple-haired Dog Faunus, what breed? Nobody can say,
but she's a sweetheart to anybody she meets, much to the dismay
of her parents. She was accepted into Beacon after finishing her
training in Argus, though it wasn't without complications as she
almost got expelled for destroying a classroom after she got
locked in by some bullies. (But she insists they were her
friends even afterwards.) Her weapons are rather uncreatively
called 'Gnashers', a large pair of claw gauntlets that also
contain a pair of grenade launchers. She also tends to wear
armor on her legs when she uses them to better benefit her
semblance.
Her semblance, contrast to her demeanor, is Frenzy. Like any dog
she has a hunting instinct in her DNA. And when it activates she
will seek out her target to destroy it. Her strength amplifies
when she uses this, but it comes with the added cost of not
really being able to control her very well. Best break out the
spraybottle if this happens outside of combat.
Her allusion is that of a good dog, but partially also to Black
Dogs, especially when she's in Frenzy.
I plan on trying to get Chapter 5 out before the end of the
month. This chapter takes place during 'The Shining Beacon' and
focuses on Touko meeting Merri before having a minor altercation
with Verdan and Noa later on. As was the case with other
chapters, while some RWBY cast will make an appearance most
events of V1 episodes will only be brought up as background
events that are happening in tandem.
I'm sorry it took me over a goddamn year after Chapter 4 to
start work on this again.

I've not gotten round to reading it yet, but I'm definitely
going to check it out since Touko's been pretty important as of
late in SotPSoH. Especially if her relationship with Ruby
develops even more ;D .

Well, i'm not in charge of writing that so I can't speak on that
fic, even if I have offered tidbits of where I would [iIlike[/i]
her story to go in that.
I will however note to not expect anybody in Team RWBY to make
any substantial appearances any time soon. Touko actually needs
to meet her team first.

probably the prime moment to really get into it.

Nothing at the moment. Since this chapter is supposed to cover
initiation i'm trying to figure out how I want to go about that
since I suck shit at action writing. I basically just have a
title written.
