✨ How Aura Works in the
Scarletverse
Aura in RWBY has historically been loosely
defined, offering limited mechanical explanation. To better
systemize its function within the Scarletverse, Aura is divided
into three core stats:
Density, Reserves, and Regeneration.
Each stat is measured on a standard progression scale:
N/A < Extremely Low < Low < Below Average < Average < Above
Average < High < Extremely High
A fourth designation, Variable, is used when a character’s
Semblance or condition affects their Aura in unpredictable or
situational ways.

🛡️ Density
Represents the defensive strength of a character’s Aura—how much
damage it can absorb in a single strike before shattering.
• Low Density → Fragile; vulnerable to heavy hits
• High Density → Durable; able to tank significant damage
before breaching
Think of this as the character’s physical shielding or impact
resistance.

💠 Reserves
Indicates the total amount of Aura a character has access to.
Reserves determine how frequently a character can use their
Semblance, restore Density, or recover from wounds.
• Low Reserves → Struggles in long engagements
• High Reserves → Can maintain consistent pressure in
combat or support roles
Think of this as your Aura “mana bar” or overall stamina pool.

🔁 Regeneration
Measures how quickly a character’s Aura recovers over time. This
stat governs how fast their Reserves are replenished after being
depleted.
• Low Regeneration → Requires careful Aura management
• High Regeneration → Enables rapid recovery and more
aggressive combat flow
Characters with high Regeneration tend to be more daring with
their strategy, relying on fast recovery to stay in the fight.

🎨 Color
Aura Color is primarily cosmetic, reflecting personality or
emotional state. It has no mechanical impact in most cases,
though rare exceptions or specific Semblances may interact with
Color as a narrative or symbolic element.
It’s fun flavor—not a stat.

This system is intended to provide clear and
intuitive guidance for Aura-related stats across character
profiles, power scaling, and lore documents. Use it as a
foundation for creating consistent, flexible, and story-driven
profiles in the Scarletverse.

The Chronicles of Vale
An extended account of the Kingdom of Vale and its influence in
the Scarletverse
The Valish Branches
According to the poets and writers of Vale, history is divided
into four main Branches, each marking a pivotal age of cultural,
political, and mystical evolution:

Branch of Phantasia – The Mythic Dawn of Vale. A time of
gods, monsters, and legends. Filidh told of moon-breaking
battles, sorcerer wars, and Grimm kings. Faunus myths such as
The Shallow Sea and The Judgement trace back here. Semblance
lore first appears as divine magic.

Branch of Kings – An age of steel and feudal blood. Petty
kings ruled over fractured lands. Four power blocs rose:

House Valefor – Lords of the coast and valley

House Winchester – Rulers of Forever Fall

House Sombra – Shadow kings of the cedar south

The Coniferous Confederation – United clans of the Northwoods
The Valefors emerged supreme, crowning themselves High Kings of
Vale and heralding the end of the feudal age.

Branch of Dominion – Vale’s golden era. Pax Valea. Trade
boomed, technology blossomed, diplomacy reached new heights.
Crown-sponsored huntsmen patrolled the wilds while scholars
pushed borders. But pride preceded a fall...

Immediate Branch – The modern day, following the Great War.
Begins with the signing of the Vytal Peace Accord by King Oswen
Valefor.
Legends of the Old Vale
“Behind every tale lies a truth.”
The Infinite Man chronicled the heroic rise of the Order of
Fáinne, Vale’s first knights, formed near the Valean River.
Their romance forged the template for all later orders. The
Circle protected humanity from Grimm in lands as far as Vacuo
and Vytal. Though they fell to treachery and strife, their
legacy endured. Their oath is still whispered by hunters:
“For it is in passing that we achieve immortality.
Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise
above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release
your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee.”
The Valean Dilemma (I & II)
Vale’s expansion into the southeast ended in tragedy. Mountain
Glenn, a promising city of refuge for faunus, collapsed under
Grimm siege. Survivors were forced underground, only for Grimm
to follow. The metro was sealed. Glenn became a tomb.
This failure birthed the Dilemma of Patch:

Thousands fled back to Vale. The king, Ozymandias Valefor,
sought to exile them again—to the fiercely independent island of
Patch.

Prince Vessalius was sent to enforce this exile, but instead
he bonded with the Patchlanders and defended them.

Betrayed and blockaded, he forged an unlikely alliance:
Patchlanders, refugees, soldiers.

With promises of justice, Vessalius stormed the capital,
deposed his father at the Lop, and was crowned King Oswen
Vessalius Valefor.
King Oswen, the Last King
Oswen Vessalius Valefor was a warrior, reformer, and unifier.
His legacy includes:

The abolishment of slavery in Vale.

Civic protections for faunus and laborers.

The reclamation of land and wealth from corrupt nobles.

The peaceful annexation of Patch, Vytal, Westerly.

The creation of the Royal Council, sharing power with the
people.

His crowning act: presiding over the Vytal Peace Accord,
ending the Great War.
He earned the titles:
“The Warrior-King, The Wise King, The Last King.”
The People of Vale
Vale is a diverse realm made whole by its many peoples:

Patchlanders – Forest warriors and runestone keepers. They
speak Old Valish and take pride in their independence and
huntsmen heritage. Fiercely loyal to their homeland. Birthplace
of Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long.

Westerlies – Mountain folk of the Westerly Massif. Hardy,
reclusive, and deeply traditional. Known for fierce resistance
and scenic homesteads.

March Folk – From the Valish frontier and Pall jungle. A
blend of pioneer spirit and ancient lineage. Some descend from
the fabled Empire of Uxmal.

Vytalese – Seafaring archipelagans who cherish life, music,
and beauty. Their island capital, Encrucia, hosts the original
Vytali Festival which inspired the modern Vytal Festival.
Vale’s Enduring Legacy
Vale’s influence is deeply rooted in Remnant’s modern order:

The Huntsman Academies stem from the Order of Fáinne.

The Vytal Peace Accord enshrines equality and council-based
government.

The global calendar uses Valean notations: BGW (Before Great
War), AGW (After Great War).

Valean silver-eyed myths, once fiction, now challenge modern
understanding.
Vale’s story is not yet over. The Crown now rests with Queen
Olwen Valefor, daughter of Oswen. As ancient prophecies
resurface, so too does the question:
Were they just tales? Or warnings we failed to heed?
