2011/12: Game 24 Stony Brook vs UMBC - IO 118

So after the ugly win at UNH the team gets back to sweet home to
face UMBC. A month ago we all saw what happened at UMBC.
Hopefully Pikiell can try and get the guys ready for Vermon't
matchup (the one that really counts). So far 16-7, 11-1 looking
like a 20-win season!
Go Seawolves.

The team needs to stay focused on Thursday. No time to slip up
now.
Sunday will come when Sunday arrives. I know we are all looking
toward the UVM
game but the good teams take care of business against what on
paper is an
over matched opponent.

Gotta agree , I have no doubt we win Thursday . Even with an
off night we are too deep and I think we can beat UVM on their
court. We have won up there before.

A first place team needs to take care of business when the play
a second to last place team. It would be nice to see them get
hot early and
never let them into the game. I would like to see a large
rotation (if we can get out ahead quickly) this would allow us
to
see how the rest of the team is progressing. I still think
Lenny will get hot . It would be nice to see a few guys have
breakout games.

that was too close to feel comfortable. I expected another 40
point blowout. I guess my expectations were too high. But we did
play terrible defense today. At some points it was very sloppy.
Second consecutive "ugly" win. I hope we see a better show on
Sunday!

It was a grind, but I'm not concerned. We trailed Bing at half
after beating UVM in January; they can't/won't all be blowouts.
I really think we match up well against UVM. i may regret this,
but there are several teams in the conference I'm more
intimidated by than the Catamounts.

Gotta love our bench. They lit it up tonight and pretty much won
this game.

As goofy as this sounds, I'm kinda happy that the game went the
way it did. This is a game we would have lost last season (see:
Manhattan), and it serves as a reminder that you can't overlook
anyone.
All that said, I would feel better about tomorrows game if we
beat UMBC by 40...
