As of this morning, here are CAA Kenpom rankings:
- College of Charleston - 78
- UNC Wilmington - 113
- Hofstra - 120
- Towson - 156
- Drexel - 183
- Delaware - 203
- Northeastern - 247
- NC AT&T - 257
- William & Mary - 293
- SBU - 317
- Elon - 347
- Hampton - 351
- Monmouth - 355
The CAA newbies certainly not helping the conference overall. 3
of the bottom 4 are newbies this year (SBU, Hampton, Monmouth).

No different when SB was in the AE conference
For basketball (and everything else) this is a better conference
with better exposure. SB just won a thrilling prime time game on
CBS Sports Network! The glass is half full, IMHO

It’s only a better conference if it regularly gets more than one
team in the tournament. To say it it gets greater visibility is
wishful thinking. Six of one, half dozen of the other. Let’s
keep it real.

Option A: Hey recruit that we want, you'll get to play in
terrible gyms, in front of no fans, in places like Maine, New
Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. Your family will never be
on anything but ESPN+, and like every team in the league's
history, you will never have a chance at an at-large bid.
Option B: Hey recruit that we want, you'll get to play in actual
gyms most of the time, in front of up to 5,000 fans on some
nights, in places up and down the east coast. Your family can
see you on national or regional TV on occasion, and even though
getting ranked and receiving an at-large bid is a longshot at
this point, there is some history of it, with two teams even
making the Final Four in the last 20 years.
Give me option B!!! I am really happy with the move to CAA even
though I was a bit hesitant when it was happening. Not all
one-bid leagues are equal.

We had a Thursday night game and then such a quick turn around
road game today at 2?? I was surprised when I saw this thread as
I didn't know it would be such a short turnaround. Tough one to
lose. Would have been great to keep the momentum going.

A fan who wants to watch the games will prefer being able to
watch all of them on espn+ instead of the occasional national
game or the horrible Flo broadcast that costs them twice what
espn charges.
I don't think too many say they are happy not watching every
game but shucks we get a couple national games.

The CAA media deal is dodowater. Everyone knows that. Hopefully
they negotiate with a better network when it comes due next
But to say the move to the CAA wasn't worth it is laughable.
It's still a step up in both perception and play. My only
concern is when they added us they brought along alot of dead
weight with us (one could argue we're the deadweight too this
season).

Nobody said it’s not a step up. It is, but only a baby step. It
may actually work against SB because it’s is now more difficult
to win the conference title for the autobid.

I don't really buy that... though of course once we leave
Vermont of course has their worst season in like 20 years ;D

It depends on what you want out of the program. I think
everybody wants to go to the NCAA tournament. At the same time,
I would like to play big schools, maybe host big schools, fill
the arena, recruit better players, see better opposing players,
see better basketball. And ideally the tournament is a byproduct
of that and maybe we even have some modicum of success when we
get there. The odds of that increase with the switch.
