If we play like we did against Yale, we have a shot. Now re-read
that statement: If we play well, we have a chance to beat a
likely-favored Sacred Heart team at home. That's how far we've
       plunged.
I was optimistic again on the line, yes. I figured that, neutral
floor, it's a pick 'em game and we get a few points for being on
our home floor. But when the line comes out, we'll likely be
       dogs.
The heck with it though. Enough is enough. It might not add up,
but I believe, somehow some way, we win this game.
It'll be a test though. You have to like Sacred Heart's balance
and depth; it sure is a blessing when you consider where we're
at. And it kind of makes sense, with complementary parts from
other universities joining Galette, a complementary part to this
point, to complement each other for a team that should be around
the middle of the pack in the NEC. Perhaps Galette deserves more
credit than that—he's gone for double digits in all 11 games and
has three games in the 20s, including 26 in an impressive rout
of Binghamton. He's just somebody I've always viewed as an
unpolished gem, a volume guy, but he's definitely active on both
       ends in the paint.
One thing about Sacred Heart—they're very very small, with the
6-6 Johnson likely drawing Fitzmorris in the post, and no towers
coming off the bench as reinforcements. As much as I'd love to
say Fitz could have his way down low, I'm more looking at
Policelli going to work on the block. He's coming off a career
night at Bryant and I'm sure he'd like, more than any of us, to
build on that and begin to put a stamp on his time here. And
really, there's all this talk of size on this roster, and
against a team like this, enough should be enough. Let's really
take advantage on the glass and not come up small yet against a
       D-I opponent.
Anthony Latina did fetch some solid pieces in Carpenter (Siena)
and Solomon (Niagara). They're joined in the backcourt by
Reilly, in his second year at SHU since coming over from Sacred
Heart, and Long Island's own Mike Sixsmith (Holy Trinity), who's
out there to distribute the ball and knock down shots. He's had
big days for them in wins over Columbia and Fairfield.
Sacred Heart has basically been an honorary member of the
America East, going 2-3 against AE opponents—wins over Bingo and
UNH; a loss to NJIT and two to Lowell. They even beat AE grad
Hartford in their opener and now they get us.
Lastly, if you want to relive last year's game-winner, here it
is. I'll take a win of this type or your regular garden variety
       W. We all know that we need it.

Hoping this is our first D1 win. I see stony brook +2 on
betonline. I hope Clarke goes off since it’s his former team.
I’m no doctor but is it strange for Toby not to be playing? I
understand it’s a broken nose but don’t they have face masks for
that sort of injury ? But I also hope he’s healing well.
Seems like at home we just play and shoot better. Kind of think
we need to just get a huge lead so if we “run out of gas” in the
2nd, we can just coast and try to sneak out the W.

       Just throwing this out there:
       Conference NET:
       AE 23
       CAA 24
I surely didn't expect this mess. This has to be a bad joke!

Looking like it was a lateral move that cost SBU $ but didn't
       gain anything.

       Forget all of that.
The worst part... is that we need to compete with 12 other
members for one NCAA bid with little gain.
Don't get me wrong. I wanted to get out of the AE. But I was
hoping the CAA would remain in the 13-17 range of mid-major
       conferences.
At 24 we are in a horrible conference. We are screwed!

Sacred Heart sitting here as a two-point favorite.
       We gotta get this one.

It is a bad joke - for this season.
But also know that this is the CAA's floor, and it's right at
       America East's ceiling.
So days will be brighter, for the league and this program. I
mean, our injury list is ridiculous, and although we weren't
world beaters with a full team, we also wouldn't be in the mess
       we're in with them either.

Full team maybe fighting to be .500 in conference. With the
injuries bottom of the league. Think we beat sacred heart
       tonight.

For the record, it did not cost SBU any money to make a move.
CAA waived the buy-in, and paid SBU's buyout from the AE.
