i just think that there is so much more to it, that coaches and
administrators know, than us armchair quarterbacks know. that's
all. they know their profession better than we do; just like
you know yours better than they do.
if it doesnt make sense, there's probably more to the story.
GO SB

I totally agree.
If he signed a new contract, it probably wasn't the gift people
think it was. It could restructure his deal on more favorable
terms to Stony Brook possibly making it easier to remove him. It
could be he's transitioning to an administrative role like
Kornhauser did.
Stony Brook can remove him at the end of this season because his
contract is up. He shouldn't be given any more chances.

A few people are drinking the kool Aide in the forum and haven’t
a clue to what is going on at SBU.
I know for a fact, hard fact that SB is going to lose a
prominent 3* FBs transfer after this season because of coach P.
With two years of eligibility left. And one WR is transferring
as well. That's just for starters. This FBS transfer has the
most receiving yards on the team. He was lied to by P when he
transferred in, and the conditioning program is that of JV
football, hence all the injuries this year. He regrets coming
here. That’s the norm in the locker room this year. And P gets
an extension. Goes to show you what’s happening behind closed
doors..
This program is in shambles and a lot of it has to do with
Heilbron, and of course P. Was told first hand..

If what you are saying is true, then I rest my case about this
being about politics. SBU is willing to have two more years of a
losing season and losing players to transfer portals because of
a restructuring deal? Sounds like total corruption to me. That’s
not how it is supposed to work in the real world. If a coach is
underperforming, you fire his ass and find a new coach. Not
reward him with a two year, million Dollar offer, to set him up
for years later!! I mean, WTF?????
I rest my case!
This is all the exact opposite of what I was suggesting.
That new contract MIGHT be an amendment to the current contract
that allows the contract to terminated at any time without any
guarantee of salary, however the end date of the contract is
extended 2 years. What we know is the contract is extended. What
we don't know are all the important details within the contract.

I have also confirmed from a reliable source that Priore signed
2 year contract extension before the season started. Hopefully
someone with more time and experience than me can submit a FOIA
request for details on the new deal

I now understand what you are saying, but any contact extension,
regardless of terms, is too much. SH and the President are
responsible for this. This is why I use the word “corruption”
very loosely. No other school does this. Not even a low budget
FCS school will extend a coach contract when it ends with
dismissal numbers like Priore has, year in and year out

Unfortunately ALL the kids have been lied to in some way or
another from the minute their recruiting starts with this
program and that's the asst AD/dir of recruitment Hatch. It's a
MESS, like said the conditioning/training program is a
mismanaged disaster, when you allow/force sick and injured
players back into training and such is completely reckless to
the health of that player and team as a whole. I don't know if P
scares them to do it but I know for a fact that it is done.
Practices are full of threats and talkdowns. Watch the roster
numbers for next semester fellas.

Amazing how we reward incompetence at this program....
FIRE COACH P. GET HIM THE FUCK OUT
Unchained, if what you're saying above has even a nugget of
truth to it.... wow. Coach P gotta go. This is sad!!

Coach P needs to go no matter what. It's 4 straight losing
seasons, and this one has just been embarrassing. I've applauded
Heilbron in the past for being patient with coaches, but it's
past time to part ways with Priore

Respectfully, step back and look at this athletics dept under
Heilbron. Both basketball and football have been horrible in the
recent years. No other university in the country would keep this
AD employed after he extended the football coach to begin with
this season and then keep the AD and coach after 2-9. That is
not armchair quarterback. Its common sense. Look at the top
players in the portal now. They don't want to play for Priore
and Heilbron is the reason Priore will be here for what two more
years?
