Re: 2022 Football Season

WOW!! You know it's big news when Newsday talks about a QB from
SBU transferring out. Even they know it was a mistake.
Charlie McKee, the Nassau County
all-time high school leader in passing
yards, has entered the transfer portal
after his freshman year at Stony Brook.
McKee, who starred at Oceanside
High School, appeared in five games at
quarterback, including four starts, for
Stony Brook this season. The Seawolves finished 2-9.
McKee said there wasn’t one specific reason for this transfer,
but after
discussing his future with family and
Oceanside football coach Rob Blount,
McKee believes it was in his best interest to explore other
options.
“It was definitely a tough season
throughout but I was able to get
through it with my teammates by my
side,” McKee said. “It was a tough season overall but nothing
that killed me.”
McKee, 6-foot, 197 pounds, completed
60% of his passes (66-for-110) for 806
yards and six touchdowns with seven interceptions. The true
freshman completed 18 of 26 passes for 190 yards with
a touchdown and an interception in his
first college appearance in relief for
Daron Bryden in a 24-14 loss to New
Hampshire on Oct. 8. McKee started the
next four games before not appearing
over the final two contests.
McKee, who made the official announcement on social media
Tuesday,
said he already has received interest
from coaches. He’s open to playing at
all levels — whether that be higher,
lower or within FCS (Division I-AA).
“I just want to play ball at this point,
have some fun doing it and get a good
degree no matter where I end up,”
McKee said. “I’m just kind of seeing
what comes in and go from there.”
Blount said whatever program ends
up with McKee is getting a winner.
“I think for any program that gets him,
they are getting a young man who is energetic and loves the game
of football,”

I have been calling for Heilbron to be fired for the last 2
years and I feel vindicated in my beliefs now. Wish it didn't
have to result in the complete annihilation of the football
program, but it's clear that he has been Stony Brook's main
problem for a long time now.

As bad as Priore is with his job Heilbron is ten times worse at
his. He single handedly destroyed our football and basketball
programs. I won't be surprised if Ford gets a new contract
extention.

Did you see patrick hatchs tweet today about being happy to be
home for Thanksgiving and mocking players who are in the portal?
So your happy that the team your a coach for is not in the
playoffs this weekend? He's been home for Thanksgiving and
playoffs for four years because the team sucks. John Kinder
replyed to him that he had no class.

SB is 7 games under .500 during the decade it has been in the
CAA. The only good seasons were 2017 and 2018. Why has Priore
been extended after several seasons of mediocrity culminating in
a bad season? Something is not right. This stinks to high
heaven.

There’s no way to be sure but simple lack of initiative on the
AD’s part could be it. It’s easier to hope for improvement than
conduct a national search for a new HC. It involves a lot of
work and time. The AD may not want to deal with all that for
whatever reason.

National search? eeni, meeni, mini, mo (sp?) would yield a
massive improvement....

Heilbron being a lazy bum would be an even worse reason for
keeping Priore through this
