The ceiling for this program is mediocrity for at least the next
three seasons.
Disagree... It last as long as Priore remains the football
coach. We're losing a ton of guys because we can't keep our
talent. If SH canned Priore and got someone competent in there
we could CONSERVATIVELY be back to .500 next year and in
contention for the conference title in two years. But that's
ONLY if we get someone good which we'll never have because
Chucky P ain't going anywhere.
I"m honestly shocked. When Mike Houston left JMU for ECU, JMU
hired Cignetti who was the Elon coach at the time. Schools in
this league trading coaches isn't an abnormal occurrence, but
with SH at the helm, he'd rather keep Coach P in that seat
rather than go out and get a Coach who has proven they can win
in this conference. There's no reason SBU shouldn't be perennial
top 20 team every year given our academic profile and what we
spend. Dont' forget that Priore is one of the highest paid
Coaches in the FCS despite making decisions that even your child
playing Madden wouldn't make.
We could be so much better than where we are and it's painful to
see because during the Big South years we were clearly trending
in the right direction.
At least the next three seasons. Even if Priore is canned after
next season (which is still questionable), his replacement will
have Priore's leftover recruits to use, and we know Priore won't
be recruiting well now. His poor legacy will be felt for years.
It takes a new coach coming into a bad situation two years or
more to recruit and train high-caliber players so they're ready
to win consistently.

I went to my source today and as far as SBU is concerned
including the starters who announced they are transferring, they
already have their replacements either on the current roster or
FBS transfers that are coming in. The Walk-ons that are leaving
weren’t considered scholarship players
Between the players who graduated and the transfers SBU will
have around 65-70 players returning from this year’s roster and
will add another 40 new players.
While we all think there is turmoil within the SBU Program the
AD interviewed returning players and coaches and that’s why
Coach P is returning because there was positive feedback

I'm not a genius, but I know that losing your entire starting
offense means there's discord in the program, regardless of what
kids are willing to admit to their superiors.

I don’t believe it. What i do believe is that no player is going
to bash the coach to the AD because of retaliation. What I do
believe is numbers don’t lie. Their records don’t lie and their
crappy play calling don’t lie. What athlete will actually say
they loved playing for SBU and coach P. I’ve heard from a few
parents of players recently. the athletes in that locker room
aren’t very fond of him. Oh, well.. it is what it is. That
stadium is going to look like a ghost town next season anyways

Every player has an exit interview with their position coach and
they express what’s important to them and the coach will tell
them where they fit in next year’s plans as an example SBU has a
very strong PK that’s a Freshman name Enda Kirby that’s on track
to take over all kicking next year so that made Angelo
expendable and with McKee he was told that Dryden would be the
starter next year and he would have to unseat him. As far as
DeVera and Harris go they have people in the program who are
just as good or better.
There will a new QB Coach from what I was told to improve the
passing game
Also expect more transfers then ever coming in next season

And if not then they’ll use injuries as an excuse for failure.
McKee and Devera are studs. McKee chose the wrong school to
improve and be groomed. He is going to be a stud somewhere else

New QB coach won't change squat as long as Priore is in charge.
Doesn't matter who the positional coach is if King Chuck is
running the show.
Don't get me wrong, Bryden had some good games but definitely
didn't lock down the job next year. McKee and Bryden should have
been given a fair chance to start next season. Zamot was leagues
behind both of them unfortunately. The only hope for Chuck is if
a talented FBS QB transfers down that can right the ship.
Otherwise I think 2 wins will be generous next year.

My sentiments exactly thank you.
Coach P really f- Ed up some really good athletes this year.
He’s a real POS, and should be fired immediately. And that moron
Heilbron should be fired next. Everybody, including the parents
of the players need to write to the president of Stony Brook
University, and expressed their concerns about the football
program.

Being a mouthpiece for your friend of the program is admirable.
The big picture is the status of the program that's what, 11-26
over the past six years? A two win season this year? And the
coach/staff is telling you none of this matters because they
have their replacements already, who are as talented or even
more talented but those replacements didnt start this year?
When did the AD interview 60 plus players? Did he do it over the
phone from Gainesville? Some kids will crack. Others will not,
IF Heilbron has ANY exit interviews.
Lets talk about Heilbron. The ad who said he will make football
the centerpiece of he athletics program with the 100 milion he
promised to raise in five years. I'm going to guess that you
have some vague vested interest in protecting Heilbron's
disaster. That's your business.
You cant spin losing McKee. Spinning losing Googs because Chuck
has a kicker ready to replace him, when Googs saved thier ass
with a winning kick is laughable.
The facilities are falling apart due to lack of maintaining.
Shawn and his sidekick Rob are clowns. Tehyre still blaming
covid.
This ad extended this coach for three more years, after losing
records since 2018 and he did it before the season started. The
season which saw just two wins that they were lucky to end up
with. The president clearly does not care. Heilbron's time at SB
has been a disaster.
Its definitely your right to spin it for them but the facts, the
season and the departing kids say otherwise. They have no choice
not but to use the portal to bring kids in. Not a bad idea but
they should have done a better job with that over the past year.
The take on Stonybrook football is that you come here to have
your career stalled or ruined.
Look in the stands. They have been mistating gameday attendance
for years. its a joke.
It's time for change. The president doesn't see it that way.
Why bother with a football program?

Who burns a kids redshirt for one quarter of football in a
losing season? What ad would extend a coach with this record? A
lot of these players will tell you that training and the
conditioning was debatable since camp started.
Take away the kids you got early on when hofstra shut its
program down. what does that look like now?
