The ceiling for this program is mediocrity for at least the next
three seasons.

Such a disgrace.
Wonder if this is what pushes Shawn to finally fire Chuck in an
attempt to get them all back. Though the players had to have
talked to Shawn before deciding to leave, so maybe he already
heard their concerns and still decided to keep Chuck anyways,
wouldn't surprise me

That is a LOT of offensive talent leaving the team. I don't
blame any of those guys leaving this program that is slowly
descending into irrelevance.
Going back to the end of last season, as I evaluated our
program, I felt that Chuck Priore deserved the opportunity to
continue leading us forward – and I still believe that. Simply
put, Coach Priore will return to the Seawolves sideline for his
18th season next fall. The bottom line is that we have to get
better and we now have an opportunity to address some key issues
both on and off the field that will strengthen our
program.
What the hell is this statement from the TWT blog? "We now have
an opportunity to address some key issues on and off the field"
is the lamest statement. You had the last three years to fix
this dumpster fire. This whole statement was one of the most
aggravating things I have ever seen written down.
Heilbron and Priore need to get on the first flight out of
Macarthur

It's even more aggravating because our competition is doing the
right thing, the exact opposite. Delaware fired Danny Rocco last
year a season after making it to the FCS final four, and the new
hire Ryan Carty beat FBS Navy and took them back to the
playoffs. Now, Towson is firing Ambrose because he hasn't made
it to the playoffs since 2018 – the same as Priore. But our
incompetent leadership can't do the same. Bunch of clowns.

Zamot quit the team, he is finished with school after this
semester. He did not enter the portal.
Priore SCREWED McKee, burned a year of his eligibility for
what......to be benched. When this guy doesn't like you or what
you do....he hurts you. He doesn't know how to leave someone in
to work out the bugs. All scholarships can end for anyone
entering the portal at the end of the semester and Priore WILL
end them. So if they have a change of heart or not picked up
they lost everything TEAM, Scholarship and any perks that go
along with it. Priore will NOT take them back. Walk-ons leaving
in droves.

Not sure if anyone caught this from last week's TWT from
Heilbron:

To say that this has been an extremely difficult year would be a
vast understatement. The injuries that our team has endured
throughout the season certainly have contributed to our record
to date and, while I acknowledge that injuries are a part of the
game, our situation is unlike any that I have ever experienced."
As we predicted it is "injuries" fault again this season and I'm
sure the same excuse will be used for Geno.

My God... he actually did extend this inept bum.... wow.
Consider me DONE with SBU athletics then. He gave him the
premature extension in 2018 before things started going off the
rails... and now he extended him before 2022 clearly and now
looks like a gigantic fool.
Get priore THE FUCK out of this program and SH along with him.
We could be so much more than this.

Disagree... It last as long as Priore remains the football
coach. We're losing a ton of guys because we can't keep our
talent. If SH canned Priore and got someone competent in there
we could CONSERVATIVELY be back to .500 next year and in
contention for the conference title in two years. But that's
ONLY if we get someone good which we'll never have because
Chucky P ain't going anywhere.
I"m honestly shocked. When Mike Houston left JMU for ECU, JMU
hired Cignetti who was the Elon coach at the time. Schools in
this league trading coaches isn't an abnormal occurrence, but
with SH at the helm, he'd rather keep Coach P in that seat
rather than go out and get a Coach who has proven they can win
in this conference. There's no reason SBU shouldn't be perennial
top 20 team every year given our academic profile and what we
spend. Dont' forget that Priore is one of the highest paid
Coaches in the FCS despite making decisions that even your child
playing Madden wouldn't make.
We could be so much better than where we are and it's painful to
see because during the Big South years we were clearly trending
in the right direction.

This is so upsetting. Heilbron has DOUBLED Priore salary during
his time at Stony Brook - Priore made $534,000 dollars in 2021!
And what has Stony Brook gained from this investment? 13 wins
and 25 losses over the last four years. I really don't like
calling for peoples jobs, but if Priore stays, Heilbron needs to
go. Heilbron is lucky that local news media neglects Stony Brook
athletics because the outrage here should be universal.

Zamot did not quit the team and is in the portal. Priore cant
remove your scholarship if you are in the portal looking to
transfer.

Yeah, this is really bad news. I haven't followed the team much
in earnest the last 2 seasons, due to the FloSports contract,
but this is highly disappointing. Heilbron made it a point when
he came to SBU, that football would be his focal point, as it
was for him in Oregon St. He certainly has not delivered. He
took the easy way out here, and he should be held accountable.
As I've taught my kids throughout their formative years, "it
ALWAYS starts at the top", and he is culpable for the team's
demise.
