Weber played at SBU, but I have been led to believe that, in
addition to his coaching responsibilities, he was an excellent
recruiter. I would imagine that that job has gotten more
difficult—not implying that’s why he left but what a grind. I
wish him the best.

He played a large role in recruiting, and was seen as a rising
star, and as someone who'd be a head coach eventually. I really
think the mass player defections 2 seasons ago set him back, as
he lost publicity that that team may have given him. Before
coming to Stony Brook he was director of some hoop league,
similar to what he's going back to doing. Wish him well.
Wondering aloud - do you think Warney would be available and
interested in joining the staff?

He was one of the better recruiters for the team. Gotta think
having a newborn and the new stresses of constant recruitment
made him wanna do something else. Someone gets promoted or staff
addition?

Coach Weber is a great coach and an even better person off the
court. SBU will surely miss him.

Good stuff, WUSB.
In addition to the headliners in various sports, I think it’d be
great to get some occasional grad content. What was it like for
Tommy Brenton to play in Japan and win a title? What’s he doing
now? Or Dallis Joyner as an overseas veteran? Brandon McNitt is
a doctor now too and I think is doing residency around here
somewhere. Maybe not all the time but might be cool here and
there.

great news for us, and also, perhaps a hope that declaring
pro/portal is reversible.

Eek. Tykei's in the transfer portal as of this afternoon. It'd
obviously be devastating. I have to think he is seeing these
athletes getting paid and wants a piece himself.

That sucks. These players have such delusion of grandeur. If
he lands a P5 (or less), he'll be a bench warmer. Wish him luck
though.

Geno Ford cant hold anybody down from transferring out of SBU! I
know it is the new norm as of late. but mainly for good players
who aren't getting the playing time and want to be a starter
someplace else. What is Geno's issue here?
