This is nothing new but ... this CAA move is pretty awesome.
The CAA's currently ranked 15th out of 32 conferences, while the
AE is ranked 27th. That's a significant upgrade.
KenPom has three players from Vermont, Austin Williams
(Hartford) and ARob on its all-conference team. Let's see if the
voters have the guts to put the nonsense aside and give Roberts
and/or Greene their due praise. They led the conference in
points and rebounds respectively during AE play.

Agree, and if the core four (TM) stick together I think SB will
be competitive in the CAA.

good point checkie. there's so much talk on the boards about
how its still a 1 bid league, which is true, but certainly is a
significant upgrade.
that only focuses on a snapshot in time (now) and not the
future. if UMBC can upset #1 UVa in a big stakes game, why
can't.... drexel.

Will be listening on WUSB as I refuse to pay for ESPN+. lol
Lets go Seawolves!
Goodbye America East. It's been real. Thank you for the
memories. I hope this new CAA chapter is even a better one

Regarding the CAA... yes, its a one bid league packed with
programs fighting for a single bid.
In other words - it will be harder to get into the NCAA. So
don't expect us to own the CAA and get to the NCAA every other
year. It's going to be tough trying to make it to the NCAA (see
hofstra).
With that said we have to see this move as another step in a
long road to success. Stony Brook is making short-term
sacrifices (perhaps sacrificing a few tourney bids in the next
few years) for the hopes of someday climbing to the top 7-10
conferences in the future (where the public peers of a school
like Stony Brook currently reside). Stony Brook is going to
require a lot of support from the fans. We have to buy-in and
support the school during this transitional period in the CAA.
Lets enjoy the ride, buy some tickets, and support the Alma
Mater.
Let's go Seawolves!

Well put. One step at a time.
I would be very happy next year with an at-large NIT invite.

Happy for the kids who stayed. Convincing win and great way to
end the season. Hope it leaves the kids with a good taste in
their mouths, so that the core returns.
