Is this it for us? That's definitely the case for the America
East—this will be our 446th and final game as a member of this
conference. We're 233-212, with losing records against only
Vermont and Albany among existing members.
But I think we've done enough to play some kind of postseason
basketball. Stetson played in last year's CBI at 11-14 and 7-9
in the A-Sun. The CHI had a medley of mid-majors the last time
it took place in 2019—UTRGV, IUPUI, NJIT et al—so we're in play
for that too. I do not believe the NIT is in play.
I do wonder if we'd even accept an invitation with such a short
bench. If it's me, sure, I'm always up for extending the hoops
       season.
It will be interesting to check out the transfer portal early
on. We're going to be one of the first teams in the country
whose season is over with, if not the first. So we may have it
to ourselves for a short while. The Albany game was an
interesting one though. For the whole 40 minutes, our guys were
so so active, and I saw more grins than I can ever remember. And
the high pick-and-roll was utilized over and over—I didn't know
Sayles and Christie could move that fast. And I appreciated
Roberts more as a playmaker. It was nice to see.
Hats off to the folks who bring it every night on gameday. The
band brings its A game every single time. The people running the
games during the timeouts. The concession workers, the ticket
office, the ushers, security, even the season ticket holders.
And last but not least—and I might have mentioned this
before—but if you told me that the SBU twirler was the best in
the country, I might believe you. Sick ability. I appreciate
       everybody.
Let's go out with a W. NJIT is looking pretty beat up after 20+
point losses to UNH and Hartford the last two times out. They
haven't had Antwuan Butler for a while, and Dylan O'Hearn missed
the Hartford game, so they're looking shorthanded too. The
performance against UA was encouraging, and hopefully on a tired
Tuesday, on what could be the last games of these guys' lives,
they squeeze every last bit out of the orange.

Checkmate, whereas I’d like to see some sort of post-season, I’m
gonna surmise that it won’t happen for men or women. Men’s team
only has 9 on roster, if Policelli is healthy. Women’s team blew
chances for making NIT with late season losses. I think both
teams will end season tomorrow, hopefully, with wins.

in the WUSB interview with spallina, he said "... the value of
       assisted goals".
maybe he should spend a day with the bball team?
(he also said- we dont do a lot of losing around here)

These are questions I have ... not sure how they fit into a
       postgame but ...
       - If it's extended, will you accept a postseason tournament
       invite?
       - Who from this year's team do you envision being back next
year? Has anyone notified you of their intention to transfer? I
don't know players' academic status, but if the 2018 HS grads
are on schedule, they could fly the coop ... although I think
the CAA move helps. I'm guessing he'd dodge anyway
       - When it comes to building next year's roster, who are your
       priorities this offseason?
       - How has news of the switch to the CAA influenced recruiting?
       - How did the news of the postseason ban change players'
outlook, and did it influence players leaving the program? Have
you ever been a part of a program that had five players leave
       mid-season? Another likely dodge

I like Checkmate's questions, but doubt that Ford would talk
about current roster guys looking to transfer (we'll have to
watch VerbalCommits.com for that). Instead, here's a more
harmless question - Pav, on the last TV broadcast, said that
Habwe, Sales, and Christie are all eligible for 1 more year due
to the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility for Covid.
You might want to ask if any of these 3 "seniors" have given any
indication of planning to return for 1 more year?
BTW, I thought the Albany game Presser podcast was the best
presser of the year. Keep up the good works!

Habwe and Sayles both played 3 years at Mt St Mary's/Akron, then
2 at Stony Brook. Wouldn't this year have been the extra COVID
year? They've already played 5 total seasons.
Christie has only played 4 years, so he would have an extra year
       if he wanted it.

I may be wrong, but I thought Covid gave everyone already in the
system eligibility for 6 years in total. Somehow, Traci Carter
on Hartford played in his 7th season this year. The one caveat
is that Habwe completed his Master's, so I'm not sure if that
disqualifies him from continuing, or if he could enroll in
another master's program. Sales just completed his bachelor's
and I think Christie is still enrolled in Engineering school
       (UG).

How about, "How would you assess your coaching performance given
the fact that SB has performed at a .500 level the past two
years in the AE?" (A win tonight SB would be 17-17 in the AE the
past two years, a loss tonight, 16-18). It would be some BS
sound-bite answer, but Geno needs to hear the question just so
he knows someone is paying attention.
