true. we were ahead by 10 earlier, and i think a lot of it was
intensity, and vermont missing the hoop.
maybe its me but vermont plays a very old school type of bball.
move the ball, pick and roll, high % shots, control the boards.

Lol, they’re a better team. Coached better. Love the way they
pass, and they keep finding these gems year after year. We’re
not a bad team either, just smaller, and can’t shoot as well.

No accident that they’ve been in the AE Championship game 7 of
the last 10 years. Great coached team.
After tonight, I won’t be devastated if we’re banned from the
postseason AE tournament.

Don't forget the women's BB team.
I was hoping for a win tonight to at least give SB a shot at the
NIT bid (I assume first place in the AE is an auto-bid this
year) but I think it is fair to say Vermont has all but clinched
the AE.

SB's announcers are really good. I'd say the best I've heard in
the AE by far. Tho someone please tell them the "jinx the foul
shooter" bit is worn out, especially at critical moments in a
game. Also, I don't need to be reminded how good a player Geno
Ford was every single game ;)

do a great job. thanks johnny and pav!!!
the cats are really good. but we did look better than the last
outing against them. GO SB

Just got back from the game. it was fun to be back at the arena.
Unfortunately Vermont has a couple of sharpshooters that didn't
give us a chance. Very good UVM team. It would've been nice to
beat them on our way out.
Attendance was decent but definitely not like past years

I saw some good things tonight, but there's just such a wide gap
in the quality of shot that each team is getting. Whatever
advantage we may have athletically pales in comparison to the
difference in scheme offensively. Our twos are contested, their
twos are really good looks. Our threes are stepbacks or with
four people standing around, their threes are wide open. It's
kind of always been that way. And hey, we have some guys who can
really shoot it. And they're tenacious going to the rim and
finishing, sometimes acrobatically. But there's no substitute
for the kind of movement we see with Vermont.
Stat of note: We are 351st in the country in two-point FG
defense (.567). Vermont is 10th in the country in two-point FG
offense (.572). That ... is a problem. We just don't have enough
resistance inside to make anyone second-guess going in there.
Shungu in particular did what he wanted—awesome player. Our
flimsiness inside is even more obvious when Sayles is
virtually/completely absent in the second half. Did the TV
people say anything about why?
Another question: I'm not sure who Eric Beckett is, but what the
hell, man?
I do think the guys really competed. Jenkins was excellent IMO.
But UVM's just better. That doesn't mean we can't stun them in
March, but it's difficult to see how. Bracketology has them
getting a 13 and facing Kentucky in the tournament. [emoji848] I
can't see them going any higher by routing a bunch of relative
nobodies all year. The highest ranked KenPom team either of us
will face the rest of the year is UNH at 240. Meanwhile, Hofstra
has six games in the top 200 remaining, including Towson (87),
Delaware (151) and Drexel (161). Hey, it's not earth-shattering,
but it's something.
Good solid crowd. There had to be some push on campus to make
our first game after the CAA announcement look good on TV.
The SBU twirler was out there for like 10 minutes at halftime
putting on an absolute show. She must've taken one off the eye
at some point because she went into the tunnel with a huge bag
of ice on her face. I still appreciate the effort between her
and the band.

this is the last 10 or so years summed up, exactly.
just move the ball. it moves faster than the feet. this works
in every sport with a ball involved. but we dont move the ball.
why?
also, its the reason i keep pushing for paint presence and bigs.
yet we fill our teams with guards and swings. why?
