A win is a win but it should have been by more we really do
not move the ball and that will be the thing that keeps this
team from winning when it matters. Also always seem to fold down
the stretch and thats coaching.

a wide lead late at the end of the game and then nearly pissed
it all away again. These games that should be easy fodder for
getting our KenPom rating back up are instead making us fall
further back. Again, not the first time this has happened. I'm
tired of the inability to close out games.

Explain why our KenPom rating matters.

It's the most commonly-cited number used in ranking every
Division I team. People often use it to note program quality.
Plays a role in the NCAA's metrics too, although less than NET
(which gets criticized a bit more.)

I know what it is, and why it matters for a team like Kentucky
or Kansas, but in a lower-tier one-bid league, I care very very
little about our metrics in comparison to conference seeding,
home court, etc. Wins are all the same when it comes to that.
Now, I don't have to like how we did it, or the fact that
pressure has shown to get to us, but they're the same in the
conference standings. I'll take one-point wins and a KenPom
ranking of a billion if it means we have home court advantage
and that improves our chances at an NCAA tournament bid.
KenPom is a nice barometer to see where we stack up, but I'm not
going to get worked up about being 230 and not 210. It's all
going to come down to March.

Too much DIY offense and 3's early in the possession. Still I
think SB seems to be a slight notch above the AE except for
Vermont, who is a few notches above the field.

Man-for-man and at full strength, I think we're as good as or
better than Vermont. We are a few notches below in coaching,
unfortunately. Becker has them playing a superior team game,
where our coach allows us to play a free-style brand of
basketball.
On a different note, anyone know what the deal is with Olaniyi
and why he didn't make the trip to Bing?

Agree. This years team is loaded with talent but I don't think
we will see their full potential. Not sure where the blame lies
with that but I think we would all arrive at the same conclusion

Definitively an odd game from my very non-expert perspective.
Shot ourselves in the foot more times than one there. Probably
should've won the game by 8+ based on the majority of the game.
