Hofstra had a nice upset vs #24 Arkansas .. so looks good that
we got a W vs them.

Were we playing some local church team of high schoolers? St.
Peter's? Execute normally in the end and the final score looks
respectable. Instead, it's a 1 point win over St Peter's.

Is this a troll post? I don't know what conference you think
we're in (it's worse than the MAAC), or what kind of recruits
you think we get, or what history you think this program has,
but this was an enormous W, no matter the margin.
Here's what's respectable—a really really gutsy win. Shot like
crap, looked disjointed, absurd turnovers at the end, but we
pulled it out. I dunno, guys—that's basketball. That's sports.
It's not always going to be pretty. But we defended our asses
off and made just enough offensive plays to get the W. I mean,
look at that play by TSM at the end, and the mob under the hoop.
You don't think that's a good thing? I thought it was awesome.

Not a troll post, I'm disappointed that the game was even that
close. VASeawolf thought St. Peter's was a D2 school. St.
Peter's is a weak enough opponent that beating them by such a
slim margin made our KenPom go DOWN. We had already went up by 7
with 2 minutes left, I'm disappointed that we turned the ball
over twice in the backcourt to turn what was then a gimme win
into a heart-pounder at the end. It's really just those two
turnovers that annoy me, because if they don't happen, we win by
around 10 points and our advanced metrics go up!

I guess. I like seeing the metrics go up too, but they really
don’t mean much in a one-bid conference. Maybe the difference
       between a 13 and a 14 or 15 in the tournament, but that’s
putting the cart well ahead of the horse for a program that’s
been there once. I’m just looking for a ticket to the event, not
       a front-row seat.
St. Peter’s has been every bit the D-I program as us for quite
some time. They beat us by 14 just last year. They had a lead at
VCU with two minutes left in their opener this year. Ndefo, the
Drames, Banks, etc have played a million minutes together. If
they are (mistakenly) considered a pushover, then you’re really
not going to like who we have lined up in conference play.
Edit: I underestimated them myself with the inflated line. We
were only 3.5 point favorites in Vegas. I even put a few bucks
on us, so if anyone’s upset with the collapse at the end, it’s
       me!

St Peter’s is a solid well coached team. I don’t understand
people who thought we would walk over them. They are a very good
defensive team. Good win and it’s great seeing TSM develop.

Definitely a good win against a good team. Also, I liked the
halftime adjustments so credit to Geno on that. Early in the
second half, Roberts (I think it was Roberts) had the ball at
the foul line and St Peters doubled...Policelli rolled to the
hoop, and Roberts gave him a nice pass for an easy layup (dunk
maybe)...can't remember a better possession from SB for a very
       long time...more of that, please.
Also Sayles showed up a little in the second half early on for
       some much needed inside scoring.
