What a great win. We're shooting the 3 ball near 50% and Hofstra
can't make a 3 worth anything. You always love winning this
game.
The problem is the God awful optics of this EMPTY GHOSTTOWN of
an arena. Worse yet, this is on a Wednesday night when many of
the kids are still on campus. The arena looked emptier than the
campus on a weekend.
SBU's academics are top tier. No doubt about it, but our
potential will be capped if out campus continues to be this
depressing ghost town where nobody goes out to be sociable. The
kids lose out too as they won't develop the interpersonal or
networking skills that they'll need to be successful in their
careers.
That said, great win for the team!

Wow! What an amazing 2nd half! Jenkins in complete control,
TSM with an amazing double-double, sharing of the basketball,
and an absolute crush on the glass.
Greene and TSM are our rebounders and Habwe was super aggressive
too. I’m amazed at TSM’s leaping ability.
What I couldn’t understand is that Hofstra was killing us with
layups and 10-footers all first half, and all they did in 2nd
half was Chuck up 3’s. Go figure.

Very nice win. Solid rebounding effort and defense was a heck of
a lot better.
This Hofstra team has had some very tough losses this year
(Houston and Maryland). Hopefully we can build on this. TSM is
really developing into a solid player. This team will hopefully
really start clicking when Elijah comes back.

What a win! Love to see this level of intensity and good to know
they have it in them. Can't say enough about TSM tonight.
If I can say a word of defense for the student section: its day
2 of finals week. Almost all students are still in the thick of
it.

What did we just watch? My god. Total annihilation in that
second half.
It just felt like every time Hofstra came down the floor they
knew that it was going to be one and done. Just lifeless. 54-33
on the glass? And then 20 offensive boards on our end? Unreal.
Estrada, Silverio and Ray combined to go 3 for 29, and that was
with two cosmetic threes from Estrada at the end. So 1 for 27 in
the game's first 38 minutes. It would be great to see that kind
of defensive effort every night.
I want to call out JRod. Here's a guy who led this team in
scoring last year, was a ball dominant guard, and then all these
new guys come in and it's their show. Now JRod's settled into
this really nice role here. He's on the glass, pestering the
opponent's best small guard, and pitching in where he can
offensively. What an asset to bring in off the bench.
And TSM. He's been used so strangely the last two years. I mean,
really strangely. But he had 14 and 12 tonight, and I'm hoping
we see him contributing more consistently going forward. Awesome
night for him.
Jenkins was spectacular. It all looks good when the shots are
going down, but he and Roberts really are dynamic talents in
this league.
Just can't believe how that thing unfolded. Hats off to the team
and coaches. Just a spectacular night.

post of the year. even taking into account it's finals, this is
a problem year-round for SB. watch ualbANy go right past us.

This team is so bipolar. I wrote this game off because Hofstra
always has our number and the Wagner loss was so crushing.
Finals week really isn't an excuse. When I was a student, I
always went to basketball games during finals week. I would
always drink with the boys before the game and pop on down to
Pritchard. The capacity at the new arena is bigger, yes, but
that's also not an excuse. Stony Brook students just continue to
be the worst. Maybe some just wanted to watch it on SNY and were
too lazy to show up in person, but I doubt it. Is the school
doing a bad job at marketing the games to students? It's
Hofstra! Staff members should be nothing but hyping the game up
a week in advance.
I'm just so tired of how the current generation of bad Stony
Brook students reflect poorly on the Stony Brook brand as a
whole, even though people like me did everything they could to
make the brand look great.
...STILL, I don't think Albany is at risk for passing us. Albany
is the laughing stock of the four New York publics. Their
reputation is that they are where the dumbest kids go to. And
their athletics, even though they kept killing us year after
year in the postseason with Will Brown, isn't much better than
ours to the point where it would matter.

Wow what a win! I actually was in NJ and took sbu +5.5 just for
fun.. boy was I glad I did.
Just wanted to comment on the students.. where are they?! Finals
week or not, the students need to show. The game was over in an
hour and 44 minutes I believe. Athletic dept needs to do
something to get the students out. If the arena is loud, our
players will totally feed off that energy..
