I think you have to be careful watching highlight reels. Look up
Jordan McKenzie highlights on YouTube and tell me if that's the
guy we saw. It's like whenever ESPN shows top plays in golf, the
ball's going in every time.
JUCO numbers can also be misleading. Diallo averaged 14 and 6 in
juco and barely sniffed the court in two years here. Sarvan shot
27% from three as a freshman for a terrible Coppin State
program; not that people can't improve but that's quite a jump
and you wonder how much of that can be attributed to the
competition, which I would guess is inferior to even the MEAC.
As for why a good player would come here, we're a mid-major now.

Point well taken, Checkmate. I always respect your insights. I
do think, however, that Sarvan has probably absorbed some
worthwhile experience since Coppin St. Also, while recognizing
the biases certainly displayed in these highlight reels, which
always make it look like these guys sink 100% of their shots, I
think a couple of other things are evident.
-- His ability to move fluidly around the basket, especially for
offensive rebound and putbacks looks impressive.
-- His eye for spotting the open man for potential assists
appears worthy.
-- Looks like he can run the floor in transition.
Just sayin', he appears to legitimately be several steps up from
Christie, and maybe Sayles as well.

I actually agree with you. On the surface, 6-10 shooters who can
also move a little are hard to come by. I feel like he'll

I like him on the surface too. Even if he's a guy who's a
spot-up shooter, I feel like we've lacked that. Of course, we
need a system and guards to get it to him.

Really interesting recruit. On the surface, he looks really
talented.
First thing I notice is the 6.5 assists a game. With 23 points a
night? Juco ball tends to be higher scoring than Division I
games, but all that's a good sign.
I like everything I see below.

I’m not saying that Andre Curbelo’s coming to Stony Brook … but
it’d be really cool if Andre Curbelo came to Stony Brook. Let’s
get the LuHi band back together!

That would never happen. He's going to hear from most SEC and
ACC schools right away.
