This is bad. Enough said.
Im starting to agree with some of the guys that our coaches are
too comfortable. Time for AD to rock the boat!

I started an analysis of SH’s record, but never finished it due
to time constraints. In short, it was a mixed bag, but less
successful among what I would call the major sports. He gets a
high grade in infrastructure, not much else.
The notion that that Priore has great political NYS contacts is
laughable. I’d like to know who they are. It’s the contract,
not his “political contacts,” that keeps him at SB.

Not totally defending SH (I've only met him once, and seemed to
be a very likeable guy), but he took a risk naming Geno as
coach, when Boals bolted, hoping to keep Akwasi around, and in
turn, the rest of the team as well. Although it didn't work out
with Akwasi, I think I might have taken that same risk,
especially after Boals (an outside coaching pick) left abruptly.
What I wouldn't have done is given Geno 5 years, but I'm
guessing that Geno held all the cards during negotiations,
knowing the reason that SH was hiring him. In retrospect, a
disastrous coaching hire, but hindsight is 20/20.

No way. GF has a history an everyone new it. SH hiring him
because the players wanted him is dumb. And giving him five
years SH should be fired. Nice guy but his area is a mess. He
needs to leave.

I'm not saying that the players wanted him. I think SH took a
calculated risk in an attempt to keep Akwasi. If Akwasi left
(which he ultimately did), there was a chance that the whole
house of cards would come down, and everyone else would transfer
immediately (which didn't happen). In SH's eyes, keeping the
remaining coaching staff intact was a way to keep the team
intact. I can't fault him for that, especially since his 1st
big outside hire BOAL-ted on him. Akwasi left anyway, but
everyone else stayed, which looked good at the time. Another
year, however, and we are where we are today, unfortunately.
The 5-year hire is the real killer here, IMO.

It was shortterm thinking by an AD. Theres a lot more to the
story that I heard directly from a players relative. SH got
played by GF from what i was told.
