SBU just landed a transfer from FDU Jahlil Jenkins
He was arguably the best player in the NEC last year. He may be
the best PG to put on SBU colors since Woodhouse already.
I hate to say I went from doom and gloom to thinking Stony Brook
may become the preseason favorite in the conference.
Olaniyi/Roberts/Jenkins is a DAMN good haul for this transfer
       market

This is just too good to be true. With all this talent coming
in, there has to be something coming, some hurt feelings. Right?
So who’s going out? Greene? Gueye? Rodriguez? All of them were
assets this year. If they stay, we have a chance to be
       excellent.
Forecasting us having Jenkins, JRod, Olaniyi, Policelli and
Gueye starting, and Greene, Roberts, Sayles, Habwe, TSM, Mac and
Diallo off the bench. Could easily sub Greene or Roberts for
JRod or Policelli. I don’t think it’s bad to have two
PGs/scorers out there. Could be some other combo. This would
give us unbelievable depth and flexibility.
Like I said though—too good to be true; somebody of great value
has gotttta be on the way out. Will be refreshing VC regularly.

ive fallen into this trap too many times- looking at the talent.
when we should be focusing on- playing like a team. moving the
ball, sharing, taking high % shots. that's how you win in
       march.

What should the starting five be lots of interesting options. I
would start Jrod Roberts Olaniyi Policelli and Gueye. But if
this new guard is what his stats say maybe Jrod can be a 6th man
       microwave guy.

Now the real work starts.. making it work. GF showing his worth
in recruiting. Now I hope he can coach them. Otherwise it will
       be all a waste.

I agree but on paper this team could be ridiculous
Olaniyi played major minutes in the ACC
Jenkins was one of the top PG in the NEC and has NCAA tourney
       experience
Roberts had a tremendous freshman year at Kent St.
A couple of the transfers last year like White and Sewell were
clearly last second decisions. It was clear Geno was looking for
quick fixes for an impossible situation in losing
Olaniyi/Foreman/Garcia all at once. I think he hit on Rodriguez.
Greene was another good pickup. I do want this team to be less
transfer dependent obviously but this could be a good way to get
       the ship stabilized.

       the trap! ;D
starting five should unequivocally be: anyone that will pass the
       ball
otherwise we will just be clanking threes until the next
egomaniac decides the grass is greener in a better conference
just to find out he won't play or get recognized by pro bball in
       croatia

It seems to me that this team has a wealth of riches!! There
could be any number of combbbbbbbinations that make sense for a
starting 5, especially since Greene and Gueye have signaled no
indication of a desire to leave. In addition to all those
mentioned numerous times, however, don't forget about Pettway,
Kaine Roberts and Schumpert. I've gotta believe there will be
       someredshirt action.

How is Geno landing these players in the first place?
It felt like the universal agreement was that his reputation as
a coach was at a low (which I agree with). Then you have
numerous people saying that he "treats his players poorly"
(whatever that means, such a vague descriptor that has not been
expanded on by anyone alleging it). So how did we even get
Jahlil Jenkins – who after watching him ball out in the 2019
       NCAA Tournament, I'm in love.

Really depends on who stays and who goes (or just graduates from
basketball). Elijah needs to be a leader and ambassador, and
encourage guys like Mo, Sayles, and Habwe to return. Geno &
staff need to sell this too, and this will be a measure of their
ability to retain (which they couldn't do last year). Can't see
Greene leaving, after 1 transfer already. Gotta wonder how JRod
will react to this, with Jenkins clearly being the anointed PG
(but maybe one will play off the ball). Not to be a downer, but
my son says to watch Mo/Jrod going somewhere else in a package
deal; hope that isn't the case, but not outside the realm of
       possibilities.
