OK, learned something new today (I think). Teams can exceed the
13-player scholarship limit in 2021-22 if seniors choose to
return. If that's the case, we're actually one under as Habwe
and Sayles were seniors last year.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll trust you on this one. We can keep that slot open for
Garcia then, who has left Georgia, but hasn't committed anywhere
       to date.

“For D1 fall sports, seniors who have scholarships and who will
be using the extra year of eligibility will not count against
the team’s scholarship limit for the 2021-22 season.”

       Sounds like Checkmate is correct.

True, but that scholarship money has to come from somewhere. And
if the team is budgeted for 12 scholarships, it doesn't matter
       if we're allowed more.

Garcia signed with Kent State yesterday, reconnects with Randal
Holt who left Stony Brook a couple of weeks ago. Holt is a Kent
State alum and coached there for a year prior to joining SBU.
Holt and Garcia were together at SBU for the '19-'20 season.

Aside from the connection, a rather odd choice, no? Sure, he'll
get 30+ mins per game, but why not alternatively turn pro now?
The clock is ticking. Same question for Olaniyi, of course.

During the '19-'20 season, I spoke with Garcia, and he told me
that would be his final year due to damage inflicted on both of
his knees. I asked if he thought about playing in Europe, which
he once again mentioned his knees being worn out and the pain
which playing professionally would inflict on him. This is
purely a personal thought having no insight from him since
before he left for Georgia, but based on our conversation, I
believe he is using the eligibility to play out his final days
of basketball while earning not one but two masters degrees
which will help him in the business world once he no longer has
       basketball.

Best place I've ever seen a game live. Absolute gem of an
       atmosphere.
