I was absolutely disgusted when Priore punted when down by 2
scores on 4th down. He has absolutely no creativity with
playcalling and that was essentially admitting to your team that
you do not want to win the game. It was just a gutless call.
Heilbron came here with a ton of enthusiasm but the last few
years have really sucked the life out of the football and
basketball teams. Ford and Priore have really nuked both
programs and I have no confidence in them.
I know somebody else said it but we were all worried Heilbron
was a risk to go to the Big 10 or PAC-12 given his early success
here. Right now, he's lucky to have a job.
It's just a shame because we have a lot of hard working and hard
nosed kids on this team. I am usually way too optimistic about
this team but I just don't see light at the end of the tunnel
for this team until a change is made at the top. There is just
no accountability to the fans and no explanation for the
stagnation in the football product the last several years.

SB should be so luck ty have SH leave. Worried? They should be
hoping. He blew it with basketball and GF and with football.

Basketball can't hit a three, and Football can't convert on
third down. Apples to q-tips comparison, but each team has a
significant flaw. Granted, it was only one game for FB, but
seriously, 0% on conversions. I'm no math guy; I went for
Journalism specifically to stay away from math, but
statistically what are the odds of going 0-7?

"but statistically what are the odds of going 0-7?" Pretty good
when you don't have a good QB and a game plan.

Tyquell is not a bad QB by any means, he's just nothing more
than an average-good QB. He's better than Carbone ever was, but
needs a solid OLine to protect him. Makes flashy runs every now
and then but because he sat behind Big Dick Joe for so long
instead of seeing game action, when the pocket collapses he
freezes for a second while making his mind on what to do.
Newsday's game recap came out at 1 AM, which finally had some
Chuck quotes from the game.
"It was interesting," Stony Brook coach Chuck Priore said. "I
think you saw both teams struggle at times with the little
things, some penalties, just the flow of the game, not having
the crowd noise. All the little things. But it was what the kids
deserve to be doing. They work hard, and part of their reward is
playing on Saturdays."
"If I didn’t have to use the first timeout before we scored that
touchdown and had three left, I probably would’ve kicked it. But
with two timeouts, if they get one first down, the game is over.
So we gave ourselves a shot at that."
"I think we certainly have positive things for our future," he
said. "It’s hard to lose, and that’s going to be the biggest
challenge . . . But I take out of it that we fought
hard, we didn’t give up and we’re excited that we played a game.
We have to put it all into perspective."

No doubt this all falls on Chucky. Fields has the potential to
he a really good QB. He just doesnt have the right chemistry
with the QB coach to make that happen, and because of that lack
of quality coaching on this team, SB will never be a contender
as long as coach P is the HC. Ultimately, everything falls on
his shoulders.

LIU's camera work is pretty crap, but definitely enjoying
watching the game against Bryant. 0-10 last year, held the lead
in one game. Now they're up against Bryant at the half. LIU is
100% behind Stony Brook in terms of funding from the school,
donors, facility quality, but even a small influx of cash, they
could really start to build up in the not-so-good NEC and start
challenging SBU for Long Island recruits.

Good, I hope they do. Give SBU a run for their money. Maybe that
will get P canned.

Former DB Coach at SBU Rich Reichert is now the LIU DC as he was
disappointed SBU passed on him as their DC so he left Rich has
good pedigree as his dad was St. Anthony’s HC for over 30 years
