He’s such a presence down there that you can overlook any
offensive deficiencies. I still feel like he should be able to
drive, elevate and score over anybody in the AE, and am fine
with whatever result comes from him being aggressive. We saw him
catch at the FT line a few times yesterday and you know the
defender had to be thinking oh $***.

looks like the best player on the floor and then spells where he
disappears. I love when he goes to the hoop because A) he’s a
pretty good finisher, B) the conference isn’t blessed with
tremendous shot blocking and NJIT in particular, and C) the
whole defense has to react which opens up the threes we DO want.
It HAS to start with JRod. He HAS to be aggressive when he’s on
the floor and put the defense on its heels. We need his offense.

Those are the ones we want and need. He’s 2 for his last 18 from
deep.

we can get a hot hand tomorrow. It’s not like there’s a big
adjustment for that. Hey, make an open shot, that’s the
adjustment, but we’ve got to do it."

missed some open shots, but we also had a guy have a career day.
In addition to not really having terrific offensive personnel,
we have had way too many legitimately bad looks the last three
games. The opposition is consistently getting better looks than
we are, and we are trying to answer their shots with too often
poor shot selection and a general lack of creativity and
movement. Lo and behold the other teams might have watched tape
and have a book on us. These aren’t misses; they’re bad looks
and bad offense.

Can Geno please have the guts to tell Policelli to stop
launching from 30 feet out, flat-footed and out of rhythm no
less? Absolutely infuriating to watch.

Since we can’t score might as well play lock down defense.

true, and that's working.
sanity check please... yesterday, sayles scores 29 on feeds into
the paint. today, so far not ONE feed inside. sure, could be
because Jersey Tech is in the know. but still- not one attempt.
crazy?

A casual 0-7 from three so far today and the broadcast pointed
out 3-27 on the weekend from three. Just stop shooting the
three, for now, it's clearly not working.

A lot of those are open looks: Policelli got one and bricked it,
then Habwe just bricked one too.

We should collectively coach. We’re all in agreement that this
team can’t shoot. Back to basics, pick and roll, cuts to the
hoop. LES needs to see more minutes; he can’t score, but the
guy is athletic and very active; always scrapping for loose
balls and rebounds. Like his energy.

This game is hard to watch, looks more like an HS game. Terrible
shots left and right, air balling/bricking three-point shots.
It's bad.

Winning a basketball game in 2021 without any outside threat is
just not feasible. I agree that you can't take the bad contested
shots, but if you eliminate the three they're just going to hone
in on guys like Sayles when he gets the ball in the paint.
