First of all, thanks Checkmate, for getting the juices flowing
again. Not sure any of us know what to fully expect. I think
at this juncture I'll just be happy if we play a full season.
FYI to all, the game is being televised on the NEC Front Row
service which I believe to be free:

OT to Checkmate: Just having finished (and really liking) the
Netflix mini-series "The Queens Gambit", I was wondering if your
moniker implies that you are a chess player. I used to play a
lot, and watching the series has rekindled both my son's and my
interest in the game again.

I actually worked on getting a little better at chess over the
spring when we were all indoors. The name actually refers to a
local no-frills bar; maybe you've been. More places should have
popcorn makers.
I've heard good things about the Queen's Gambit.

No, I haven't heard of it, but thanks for the origin. Yeah,
definitely suggest that you check out the Queen's Gambit. Chess
is the theme, but the storyline is much wider than that.

Sure does. It’s a shame that an official’s positive can cancel a
game.

I mean, aren't emergency refs on-call normally? Not to be a
downer, but this does not bode well for the season at large.
