rides were great today. also i counted 5-6 forced shot clock
violations. 10 assists, dominated draws and grounders.
lowd and o'leary are my favorite players.
on that note, our defensive mids are getting a lot of work and
playing great (dugan, miele, morrell, o'leary, lowd, white,
morschauser). held NJIT to only 11 SOG. we had 9 CTs, mostly
from midfield.
ronan made 2 great plays in very few minutes. EMD was 2/2.
the bad- trail checked again (+2 near misses). giving up 3
goals in a few minutes early on.
jersey tech's goalie, brown, made some great saves. he's a
player.

I said on air today Brown is going to be a big part of that
program's development. He's just a sophomore. 19 saves!
It was a sloppy game statistically but that was because the
defenses made it that way, especially SB's. Lowd and O'Leary
were good, but so were Trenkle, Sabella and Cassidy.
NJIT is not a high scoring team to begin with and it seemed the
game went for them like it went for the Seawolves Friday at
Syracuse. They kept it tight early, then the Seawolves shut them
out the rest of the way. NJIT didn't score from about 4 minutes
left in the first until the end. They couldn't shoot, couldn't
clear but have a great goalie and if they can get some more D in
front of him, could cause people trouble later in the season.
Deskewicz owned the faceoffs too. Good bounceback from Syracuse,
but it only proves SB can beat inferior teams.
For SB, it was a should-win and therefore a must-win after
losing in 4 OT's to UMBC. They can't afford to throw any games
away.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me they have yet to get
a game together when all of the offense is clicking. They're
deep enough thanks to the senior redshirts that they only need a
few guys at a time to be hot, but I would love to see what
happens when everybody is in sync. If they have any chance of
beating a top team, they need to do that.
