No clue who will wind up playing QB for us after Fields
graduates, so I say just bring them all in and have an open
competition. None of this Priore favorites crap.

I don't think even Chuck knows who will play QB after Fields
leaves. And since he's already a redshirt-senior and now has
another year of eligibility, wouldnt be surprised to see him
attempt to grad-transfer.

With this Pandemic, I definitely dont see a Spring season
happening. In fact, I could see a limited amount of FCS football
teams playing this Fall, Stony Brook most likely will opt-out.
It's a Sanctuary state thing.
If this is in fact the case, what happens to all the seniors who
got an extra year to redshirt. Do they redshirt again for
another year of eligibility??

Quarterback again..

This year does not count in terms of eligibility. Full stop.
(So, if you had 1 year of eligibility going into this year, you
have one year coming out of this year. Irrespective of why you
had one year of eligibility going into this year. If you are a
frosh you had 4 years entering this year and 4 years exiting
this year ...you may still redshirt any year going forward as
per existing rules. )
Note: I am no expert, this is my understanding.

SBU does do a great job of taking average OL prospects and
turning them into solid if not pretty good

hat I know, but what about 2021. If SB opts out will they offer
athletes another year of redshirt.

It's not up to the school to offer more eligibility, it's up to
the NCAA. Seeing how vaccines are starting to be given, ZERO
chance the NCAA grants ANOTHER year of eligibility if teams
opt-out next year. Some players will be in their 6th year at SBU
in Fall '21, which is beyond rare across the board. I think Don
Liotine was the only player at SBU to go 6 years. Only happens
in super extreme cases.
