I know Coan had a good season last year and did well in the Rose
Bowl, but To be honest. I dont think he is good enough to be a
starter for the Irish. I don't see how he can do well against
the likes of Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama. I'll be cheering for
him because he is a local guy.
[/quote]
I agree he may struggle given the opposing defenses but the QB
position is wide open at ND. Ian Book could have stayed another
year at BC and his heir apparent (Jurkovec) ) left last year to
start at BC. I think he’ll be the starter. Notre Dame plays
Wisconsin in September.
I’ll root for the local guy too but I am concerned about foot
speed at that elite level (I know he was a lax kid and I saw him
play in HS and saw all his Wisconsin starts on TV)

Same with me. I went to a few of his high school games and
County champion game at SB. He obviously did exceptionally well
against our local athletes, but he did struggle at Wisconsin for
the first 2 years there. Coan does not have a strong arm and
makes his living with the short passes. That might be okay
against Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois, etc. But I cant
see him smoking SEC teams and a couple of ACC teams, as well as
Ohio State. Maybe Notre Dame goes back to being Independent and
has a softer schedule next season. I wish him the best of luck
and I hope Coan gets some serious looks by NFL scouts!!!

Jean Marcellus, a 6-4 Guard from USF and entered the transfer
portal two days ago, picked up an offer from SBU today. He
intends on graduating in the Spring and then grad transferring.
It's unclear due to Coivd rules but he may have 2 years of
eligibility remaining. SBU is his only public offer as of now,
but good to see the school is attempting to build up the OLine.
Now if he were to chose SBU, maybe they can switch him to tackle
and have him slot in where James Tunstall was.
Per his 247, Marcellus held 14 FBS offers out of HS, including
Miami, Miss State, and Cincinnati.

believe he's a redshirt-junior and played In a couple of Fall
games which would leave him ineligible for Spring unless he
applied for, and was granted a waiver. SBU is his only public

SB desperately needs him with the hole left behind from
Tunstall. From what I read on Jean, He is a versatile player and
could play the tackle position well, if need be.

Rutgers DLineman Matt Thomas entered the portal a little after
New Years. No official offers have been reported, but SBU is
sniffing around, doing their due diligence. Stony Brook was his
fifth offer back in HS, and he went on an unofficial visit there
back in April 2017. Buffalo, Wake Forest, Maine, Towson are some
of his other offers in HS. As Campi has mentioned in the past
and we've seen recently with James Tunstall and Tyler Devera,
SBU offers 2 & 3-star recruits in hopes some will enter the
portal in the future and look to transfer down to a place that
showed interest in the past.

The youngest is Jaaron, who is a WR at Villanova. Tyler, who
just entered the portal is Hunter's twin. Hunter transferred to
SBU after the Fall semester concluded.

All good didn't mean it to come off as rude or obnoxious. Was
actually on my way to share the news, props for getting it out
quick.
