I want to leave Albany behind. Moving to the CAA proves that we
are one step above them. Don’t want the illusion that we are on
       the same level.

I agree, but. I could see SBU pushing to invite UA in as well.

I don't see SBU having any clout other than getting themselves
on board. It's a good thing...I'd like to see SBU put the AE and
all its members in the rear view mirror.

       me too.
in fact, i sorta feel the same about some other AE schools too.
maybe not Jersey Tech or UML (they are coming along fast), but
certainly Bingo and BC. i mean really have you guys been to
UMBC? its SBU-south. same students, same campus, same
curriculum, same everything. it's the maryland version of our
       beloved U.
i havent read much of the AE BBall forum but geez, so much
vitriol from the AE fans, particularly up north. they're
       probably gonna post this there!

Tell me about it. So much vitriol… seriously. Each one of those
fans would jump to be in CAA if their schools were invited. And
       they twist words so much.

I'd rather create new rivalries with more prestigious opponents

Exactly. They're mad their school isn't the one getting the
invite. If they could they'd all be on the way out the door.
       Buncha BS.

The only school I'd care to bring along would be Vermont, as
they're far and away the strongest program in either conference
right now, but we all know how that would go. If the CAA was all
about having the strongest teams possible, Vermont would be
coming along with us. Other than them though I don't really care
about who we're leaving behind. Play Bing, LOLbany, and Vermont
as OOC games. Try to get two out of three on the docket annually
as an OOC game, but leave it at that. If we're the flagship now,
we need to not worry about those tiny schools anymore.
