       > We just didn't make enough big shots, period. We're up 52-51
with four minutes to go and then this sequence: Olaniyi missed
layup, Olaniyi miss from four feet on the inbounds, Foreman
missed layup, Marks three, Olaniyi missed layup, Foreman missed
layup, Marks three. Three-and-a-half minutes with your season on
the line and no points. That's your ball game.

im not disagreeing but couldnt you think that this was lost in
the first half, by going down 31-19?
       [/quote]
Chairman. Dont you think that falls entirely on the coach for
not driving to the basket??? My voice still hurts screaming at
Ford for not doing that..Hartford had their two best 3 point
shooters in foul trouble. Any drive to the basket would have
fouled one or both of them. That would have limited their 3
point ball, which would have freed up the perimeter protection.
I am convinced. Ford is not the face of SB men's basketball. He
has Bradley written all over himself. Give the man one more
season with a team full of seniors. If SB doesnt make it to the
       Finals, move on!!!!!

i won't opine on that- because we cannot say what's going on in
their heads- i'll just say that i think we often revert to deep
desperation shots without even thinking about passing/driving.

In the postgame presser pretty sure Geno was asked that same
       question.
I thought getting Elijah back would mean that he would be the
primary finisher at the rim, I don’t know if it was residual
effects from the injury as to why he couldn’t just get that one
       final bucket to fall

it aint my team- but here's my "i aint the coach 2020/2021 wish
       list":
       -patience

in practices, we should use the shot clock, control tempo.
teams go on runs against us because we miss threes, then it goes
       the other way, rinse/repeat.
move the ball, it moves faster than the feet. shots will open.
       then practice moving the ball.
then have our bigs stand on the block, back to the basket, knees
bent. guards feed the ball, bigs turn and baby hook. 100x per
day (both hands) until they hit 40%. it worked for jameel and
       it's not impossible.
youre just not going to beat vermont (consistently) if you sling
up threes a few seconds into the clock and hope that on the very
day in march where it's on the line, you happen to hit 40% AND
it's enough still to win. the facts are in my corner on this
       one.

I have to agree with COB we dont use the clock to our advantage
. We will shoot a 3 with 20 seconds on the clock then the
other guy down the court after the miss and the rebound. Im a
firm believer in driving to the basket and either scoring or
draw a foul . Always a good chance for and 1 also make a 3
       pointer the old fashion way.

correct; we shoot well from the stripe- we can create upsets by
having others foul out- leverage our depth and expose the AE
       teams that don't have it.
also- watch closely when we take threes- do we crash the boards,
or do we plant feet, hand straight up, watching our shot. lack
of discipline. yes, we lose rebounds because of this.
if we have all these bigs and don't use their length- what good
is it. i will not accept that an AE forward can pick a pass
from otchere's wingspan when his back is to the basket.
when we take 30 attempts from deep per game, that's every 40
       seconds, or 1.5 per minute.
when we miss 20 attempts from deep per game- the chances are
they will be consecutive. when they are consecutive, teams go
on runs. how many saw us give up 10-15 point runs, and then
       lost.

Around the AE/country thread would do. That's a dagger for BU.
No conference tournament and then this? I wonder what's up over
       there.

The only thing preventing me from calling the game a choke is
our 3-17 shooting from 3. Choking would imply that our shooting
result was a surprise rather than an entirely predictable
outcome. The league is in no way better now than it was during
the Pikiell years. If you are going to tell me that the new SBU
identity is going to be chucking 3's I will tell you that the
days of us being number 2 or higher in the league 9 of 11 years
and 5 finals appearances are over.
