Solid win- Healey went nuts in the second half. This Albany team
was much better than most 7 seeds
Hartford won't be easy by any means- let's see what happens

Two guys who didn't make a conference team, Healy and Foreman,
had heckuva games. That was a really high energy, quality second
half of a college basketball game.
Checkmate, you got your four double-digit scorers plus one. Took
all that to get a win. Credit to UA.
I'm really surprised no upsets on the day. On to round 2...

Best game in that arena in a long time.
Healy was obviously unbelievable. I do think we played him well
in the last four minutes, closing out on threes and forcing him
to put the ball on the floor. We can live with him making tough
twos (which he did). In particular on the inbounds play late, UA
ran him around two or three screens to the corner, and I thought
he was going to get an open look. But nope, there was Gueye
right in his face. Healy got the layup but at least he didn’t
have a shot at tying it.
I thought Latimer was just awesome. Huge shots, including late
FTs, and he is an excellent defender.
39 big minutes for Foreman. We had 10 turnovers super early in
the game and ended up with 14. He’s taken some flak but he’s had
back to back stellar nights. Like him or not, he competed for
36+ minutes a night in conference and helped us stave off a
hot-shooting UA team. I’m happy for him. He’s starting to get
his mojo back.
Massive effort from Gueye, especially in the first half.
THIRTY FOUR minutes from Elijah. Production aside, he’s such a
leader out there. It will be great to have him Tuesday against
Hartford.

Agree, Fred. I thought it was one of the best games I’ve seen at
sbu; prob only 2nd to the 2016 AE final. Healy was just
absolutely unconscious and couldn’t be stopped. Incredible
swings. When Mo dunked for a 54-46 lead, I thought we were going
to blow them out from there. Albany show incredible resiliency
on the back of Healy. When Rizzuto had the open 3 late, I
thought we were done, but he missed. Tremendous clutch FT
shooting from Makale, Miles, and Garcia down the stretch. We
shot 40% from 3, incredibly tough win; had we lost, it would
have been an incredibly devastating loss. Onto Hartford. We live
for another day. Go SBU; go UMBC.

Agree with all. So many things to talk about, but I think you
and rest captured it all. Incredibly entertaining game, where
we fought back from 7 point deficits several times and
persevered. Really pumped for Hartford.

Bravo. Well said.
If Elijah can shoot 20 points against Hartford and the team
plays as they did against UA, SB will be playing Vermont for the
Championship.

Or UMBC..... which actually may be worse than playing UVM. We've
at least shown we can compete with and beat Vermont.

We crushed UMBC at home earlier this year.
