Wishing Heslop luck. For the last couple of years, I thought he
would be the first Stony Brook player to get drafted. Still
think he can be a good pro.

We're a LONG way away from getting a player drafted
unfortunately. I just don't think Coach P has it in him. With
the guys we've got here, if it was going to happen it would have
already.
That said, I'm hoping Heslop at least makes the practice squad
even if he's not on the 53 man roster when all is said and done.

Apparently this school doesn't care about athletes making the
pros. If they did coach P would have been gone years ago. Now,
with this closure and NYS basically bankrupt. There will be zero
money for coaches and athletic programs. Dont be surprised if
the higher paying athletics staff start taking pay cuts, just to
keep their jobs.

As a matter of information only 15 CAA players from the 2020
class signed a pro contract
As far as NYS financial issues effecting SBU athletics a lot of
other states have the same issues and on the other hand I think
private colleges are going to have bigger issues especially when
your charging a student $50 to $60 thousand a year and the
students can’t be on campus.

True, but NYS got hit the hardest and will feel the economic
effects of this more than other states.

Absolutely. NYC is the biggest part of the state’s economy and
tourism is the biggest part of the NYC economy. Billions of $
have been lost and that will unfortunately continue until a
vaccine is available. The state will have to slash its budget
even more and raise taxes (which will drive more people out of
the state). The economic impact of Sept 11 was peanuts compared
to this. It will take a decade to recover, if it can.

A big thing that could effect all the NYS Universities is when
the USA decides to punish China one thing they may do is to not
allow the Asian students to study here and its my understanding
that they make up about 30% of the NYS student population and
that could happen as early as the Fall semester. I don’t know
how much they pay to go to College but I heard it’s more than
out of state students pay

Very good point. However they wouldn't blanket ban students from
Asia. Chinese and Chinese only students would/should get a ban
in that case. We have plenty of foreign students from Korea,
Japan, etc. coming to SBU. I'm not sure losing Chinese students
will be what does SBU in. Especially with all of the discussions
we've had about how foreign students tend not to attend sporting
events and get involved in campus culture. Maybe we could lure
more out-of-state kids instead as opposed to pulling in more NYC
kids who will bail and go home on the weekends.

doesnt sound right... nearly 1/3 of students from china?
this says 19% of the latest class were non-resident aliens,
meaning from all other countries:

Chinese students make a lot of money for the school, even if
they don’t provide much athletic value. I don’t see a ban on
foreign students incoming. It will not be as easy to simply
replace them with out of staters.

Foreign students pay considerably more money than in-state
students pay, we know that, and it is a very high percent of
enrolment. I say this. Good. I hope Trump imposes huge Tariffs
on China including banning many students from studying here.
Most of these students come here, learn our way of doing
business in America and go back to China to compete with us or
steal our innovations, values, and technology, only to use it
against us in many ways down the road. The biggest mistake
universities in America did was to allow too many foreign
students in. There should be a cap. Let's say no more than 10%
of total enrollment should be made up of international students.
Schools got greedy and went for the Dollar with their best
interest in mind. This should be a wake-up call with schools in
America.
CHINA LIED PEOPLE DIED!!!!!!!!
