Fields is mobile, he justs struggles with fumbles. A lot. Had at
least two goalline fumbles last season within the first five
       games.
To the point of ground and pound, the running backs this year
are not big bruising guys. Not by a longshot. Lawton can sort of
fill that, but he's injury-prone, and a nightmare to deal with
on the sidelines and off the field. Seba is a really nice guy
and had a big game or two last year, but he's not an every-down
back. And Turner, not much to say. Looked guy in limited play at
Delaware. They're going to miss Isaiah White who graduated.
Tashawn Brinson hated it here, and Alex Indelicatto looked great
in the opening win against Bryant before the injury. Wanted to
transfer, no one offered him, idk if he's still at Stony Brook,
if he is, surely not on the roster this year.

I don't follow as close as I used to but didn't realize we lost
       brinson and indelicatto.
I don't mind that we don't have big bruising backs. I always
thought the (zone blocking?) system worked better with
small/quick backs that could get to and find the holes.

to me that's right- i think of it as linemen double teaming the
DL and isolating an off-ball defender, because he doesn't need
to be blocked- which then somewhat implies you're maybe
sweeping, not necessarily between the tackles.
it's also simpler, when OLs have to make decisions in a split
second, giving the back more decision making and trust to pick
his angles. as opposed to power I where you lead with a FB and
just hit the hole straight on.

Transfers happen everywhere, no one is immune to transfers.
Indelicato is from Washington, I believe, and people told me he
wanted to be closer to home after the injury. It's a shame no
FCS nearby game him an opportunity.
As for Brinson, he was a 3-star who had numerous FCS offers,
including JMU, and chose SBU because of their Business program
(he's very big on FOREX as are numerous other players). But very
early on he realized SBU was the wrong place for him in regards
to football and school as a whole.
Now you're both right that SBU favors backs who can create their
own holes and burst through the gaps, which Jadon Turner appears
to do fairly well. Seba looks like he needs those gaps created
for him before he can burst through. Lawton is the powerback,
but his injury history is bad. Really bad.

Despite being run by religious grifters, Liberty gets the money
to do as they please with their athletic department. Sure,
they’ve gotten backlash from recruits after their administrators
do racist things, but they have the resources.

Crazy ending and the best game of the day thus far.
It's wild how Virginia Tech can beat up on UVA for fifteen years
straight, but then when they're ranked highly lose to JMU, ODU,
       and now Liberty.

I want to talk about something positive tomorrow along with the
Nassau County HS Coaches Association and Suffolk County Coaches
Association we are running a showcase for HS Football Players
all day at the Field of Dreams in Massapequa and the PAL Complex
in Holtsville and we expect close to 400 players throughout the
day. There are 25 College Coaches coming no DI’s are allowed but
we’re filming it so every College as an opportunity to see it.
The big thing is we are proving that HS Football is not dead on
