When you go strictly by prominence of the program, this is
easily a double-digit loss. But the Friars have really struggled
of late, which means they're either ripe or due.
They've lost four of their last five, and not exactly to a
murderer's row of teams – Penn, Long Beach State, College of
Charleston, URI. The only win was a squeaker over Pepperdine.
But this team has plenty of talent. Pipkins averaged 21 a game
at UMass as a sophomore and 16 as a junior before opting to play
a grad year at PC. He hasn't shot it nearly as well, in part due
to an early season hamstring injury. I can't believe how
terrible he's been. He is GOOD.
In the paint, Emmitt Holt was a force at Iona until this
       happened :o
       (
  HTML https://www.providencejournal.com/news/20191112/emmitt-almost-died-pc-friars-thankful-inspired-by-holts-return-to-court).<br
/>He started the first four games before retreating to the bench
when Watson returned from a knee sprain. This is a team that
should be able to shoot it but hasn't. They can also pound it
inside with Watson, Holt and Kalif Young, another potential
double-double guy at 6-9/250. I suspect we'll see plenty of
       Ochefu tomorrow.
It feels like PC is a wounded dog that is ready to bite. They
have had more than a week to prepare for this game. They'll get
a nice Saturday night crowd that hasn't seen them on their home
floor in nearly a month. And this is a formidable audience –
announced attendance was more than 10,000 for their game against
Penn. Imagine us actually filling IFCU? That would be
       tremendous.
You may recall the brutal loss in Providence two years ago. We
were cruising until they hit us with a press and began to reel
us in. It's exactly what they did in the second half against
Penn and nearly erased a 17-point halftime deficit. Turnovers
have been an issue for us this year – we're averaging about 15
and are right around -2 per game. The Friars have plenty of
       athleticism to wreak havoc.
Are they really going to come out and lay another egg on their
home floor? With a full week of practice and another week to get
healthy, it's hard to see that happening. Feels like a
double-digit loss if we aren't on point.

Thanks Checkmate - I too, don't see us winning this game, unless
       everything goes our way.
FYI, per SBU website schedule and local Cablevision guide (I
just checked), game is being televised nationally on FS1.

You guys are spot on - they’re bigger, faster, and more
athletic. If they could shoot, we’d be down 25 at the half.
Gotta get Latimer off ball handling duties; he’s killing us
       there.
