You are wrong on the recruiting when you say the good athletes
won’t consider coming here as SBU’s 2019 is the best one they’ve
ever had and the 2020 class already has a 3 star commit and the
#2 QB in NY committed. Also the transfer’s we’re getting really
       good players.
The bigger issue is what it cost to live on LI and not having
the big money to give to Assistant Coaches therefore almost all
of their wives also have to work and that’s not a good drawing
       card for potential hidings

I want to clarity one thing not only hire better Assistant
Coaches but be able to keep the really good ones unless they
       have FBS aspirations

How many ESPN star players did SB recruit out of high school?
Not Rivals stars, ESPN stars, there s a difference. Dont count
graduate transfers or transfers for that matter.
Call me crazy, but I would not be surprised if LIU starts
scooping players away from SB, Like Jake Carlock and eventually
starts recruiting star players ahead of SB..
Listen. I am not bashing SB. AS a season ticket holder for
almost a decade I see a change around town that is not good. The
program needs to get their shit in order and start recruiting
better coaches, Preferably the HC and stop giving multi year
       contract extensions..

ESPN is not the standard Rivals is the standard and I tell you
for a fact every LI kid that has either played for an FBS school
or currently playing at an FBS school SBU went after and did
offer and even told them if it didn’t work out they would have a
home at SBU. They have even offered every 3 star player from
PSAL which might be the 2nd best League in all of NY. I know
this because I surveyed all of the HS Coaches in that league

weve done the math on this forum before. happy to hear
corrections as there are mere shots in the dark.
       lavalle holds 12.3k
       assume 500 parents/friends
       4k locals, donors
       500 alums
500 staff, faculty, admin, athletics, etc
       maybe 500 students
       other?
and that's 6000. with conservative estimates (meaning, larger
#s than i really think in reality).
that leaves 6300 seats. we all know they count tickets, not
       bodies.
options remaining to fill those seats:
-the over 10k students living on/around campus (not even there
       by thursday night)
-more locals sitting in traffic on nicholls road when they can
instead watch B1G games on national TV
       [/quote]
Of course. My point was that Bryant was 9700 a few weeks ago and
Wagner was 5700 a few days ago and I'd like to see Fordham back
in that 9700 range. (that is notwithstanding any/all issues
       regarding the counting of fans/tickets).

i think it's fair to say 9700 is a solid, achievable number for
this program in this era. heck, i'd take 8k.

I beg to differ about the comparison between the two but thats
fine. My point is. Why cant SB land some f these 3 star players
you are talking about>>. I know Keith is one of those kids from
Floyd, again Rivals not ESPN. Thats because SB is not known for
it's football program and kids today feel they rather play for a
larger school where football is more prominent. Look at JMU,
NDSU, JSU. They are small FCS schools but garnish ESPN star
players out of high school, why?? Because of their coaches and
the ability to train them for the next level. NFL. Thats what it
is all about with these kids. They all think they can make the
NFL one day, when the truth is 99% dont. However, SB needs to
open their wallets and bring in coaches with a history of
recruiting star players. Same old record from me for years now

From this compilation, the number that jumps out at you is "500
students." Yikes. I get that its a commuter school but the
       school has over 26,000 students.

       i think it's too high.
if you don't count the band, i'd say it's half that. can anyone
make more of an educated guess?
