Re: 2019 G3: STONY BROOK vs. Wagner 6pm SNY

I spoke to a couple of the coaches after the game last night and
they are not happy what the university is doing either
I have a thought the students should put a petition together and
then submit it to the interim president maybe he will do
something about this

That was a very ugly win I don’t know what everyone else is
seeing but I see the offense needs to improve the defense did
their job I don’t understand how the offense struggles with
teams like Wagner low points on the board smh I’m not happy with
the offense the run game uuhhhh need improvements big time we
going to get killed in our conference games if no change
happens. I’m happy for the win but sheesh there needs to be
improvement ASAP on offense

I echo the same sentiment . The offense has looked terrible and
of predictable but thats another story . So we beat two very
weak NEC Teams who are only partial scholarship teams . Wagner
lost to D2 East Stroudsburgh St at home by two touchdowns . ,
The CAA is tough again this tear and JMU, Towson and others
are going to eat us alive trying to run between the tackles or
dropping passes . They must improve.

So we beat two partial scholarship teams who up until last both
were win less . Wagner lost at home to D2 East Stroudsburgh St
by two touchdowns. I echo the same message the offense is not
measuring up at all . They had one maybe two good drives last
night . When we get into conference play we are going to be
very shocked

@Seawolf97 I’m in full agreement! I don’t know what everyone
else is seeing but I love football and I’m a true fan of the
game these wins we have even though I’m thankful are nothing to
be happy about the defense is doing their job it’s the offense
the offense the offense!

It’s our SNY debut! Not to mention the first game where alcohol
is being sold at LaValle.
I know we almost got 10,000 people last time, but I’d be shocked
if we came even close this week. The students are pissed off and
boycotting football because they moved the Homecoming tailgate
away from the big lot to host a BBQ there instead.
I can see this affecting the entire season’s attendance numbers
because the kids are unbelievably angry. They want to watch
attendance numbers crash and burn and so many of them are flat
out refusing to ever attend a football game again. Victor Ochi
tweeted about it too and got plenty of support.

I'm late to this. But finally. Something is happening... even if
its just chaos.
Something has to change and I'm glad the students are finally
doing something. Victor Ochi is right, the CC and Liberty days
where the best days for students to have fun outside and also
enjoy a game. The the University slowly started marginalizing
them shutting out frat tailgates, charging $$$ to park at the
main lot, followed by not letting anyone out at halftime, etc,
etc.
I was a student back then (2007-2012) and we actually were able
to build a consistent group of student supporters who came out
every game (a lot of credit goes to our student defacto leader
back then - Chris Creamer). For us it was fun to be there. But
these oppressive decisions have come in to boost short term
financial gains at the expense of long-term student support (and
potentially bigger financial gain).
Don't get me wrong. I like some of the initiatives such as the
beergarden and Beer/wine sold at the stadium. But that shouldn't
be at the expense of pre-game/half-time tailgating. Don't
isolate the folks that don't have the desire or money to pay for
beers when they have their own alcohol. Let the students bring
their frat tailgates to the lot with DJs and whatever they want.
Just let them be and let them go crazy.
Have a few security guards and 5 ambulances nearby in case
things go bad... That's cheaper and more effective than
oppressing and sucking money from the students and long-time
fans
I swear, I though in 2012 than when we beat Colgate (homecoming)
and saw the students rush the field we were building something
great. The following week we beat ARMY at West Point. Ever since
then we have been deconstructing the College football atmosphere
at Stony Brook.

I feel the steering committee is trying to move SBU to the FBS
DI level instead of having them be very good at this level.
Recruiting has gotten better but we are better off playing
schools like UCONN instead of Oregon or Utah State
Build a fan base starting with the students then the community
next then all of LI then the 5 boroughs
At the Utah State game it was their first home game and they had
every incoming freshmen to the school come into the field go to
a section and watch the game it was awesome to see
Have door prizes for the students
There should be at every home game at least 5 HS Football Teams
in attendance
For games that are away but can be reached by Bus bring a few
Bus loads of students and give them a good deal
Most importantly give the students their tailgating back where
it was

As far as the game went last night at times I thought we were
going to blow them out of the stadium and at other times I
thought they could beat us it wa a very uneven game
