Absolutely Xavier Arline is not a QB he’s a very good athlete
who in order to make sure that he touches the ball on every play
they put him at QB and for that matter the same can be said of
Dan Villari as he is a strong runner that can run over people. I
was with a few College Coaches at some of the LIC Games and they
flat out said that Gutieri has the following attributes; Quick
release, accurate arm, leads his receivers not throw behind
them, does not throw off his back feet, very coachable and in
the All Star Game every one of the receivers who never played
with him before said that they never played with a QB as good as
       him before.
The two QB’s that I mentioned above plus anyone else on LI is
not as prepared as Drew. Also Connetquot had no offensive line
this year. He has a QB Coach as he’s trying to continue to get
better before he reports to SBU

i heard arline was headed to UNC for lacrosse, which is
interesting, because you never know when they have FB in mind.
also ND offered him a walk-on as an athlete. im guessing
lacrosse would take him, even if half the year.

Well, I hope stony Brook utilities this kid to his max. Maybe
better things are in the cards for SB when it comes to finally
finding an FBS caliber style kid who just wants to play football
close to home. My fingers are always crossed.

I read that too. But lately, football is taking presidents over
Lax with young, dual athletes these days.

Just curious. Why doesnt Drew have any other offers?

Drew went to the SBU camp in June and committed shortly after
and didn’t go to the big prospect camps so he basically has been
running under the radar. In addition his HS team had a hohum
season which didn’t help his recruiting either.

If Coach P is losing the players confidence you couldn’t tell
that from the players who will be signing their LOI on December
19 from what I’m hearing between 8-11 players will be signing
that day in addition there will probably be around 6 transfers
       coming in February
While players will be transferring they are walk-ons not
       scholarship players

Yet despite all of that talent and "confidence" Coach P has only
delivered two winning seasons since joining the CAA while taking
some brutal losses along the way. Maybe it's more so the school
than the Coach? SBU is for all intents and purposes a Big Ten
university playing in the FCS. That will be appealing to just
about any kid who wants a quality education, but isn't
athletically gifted enough to play in the Big Ten or ACC.
This program should be much better than middle of the pack in
       the CAA.

i think the academics are there- the reason we don't
attract/retain students is because of student life.

This weekend and next weekend are very important for recruiting
as all of the players that have committed so far and ones SBU
are trying to get to commit will be on Campus so if that goes
well then this will be a very good class however if it doesn’t
go well then getting transfers to come here becomes a high
       priority
By the way of all the players that have left so far only one
that I’m not happy about is Indelicato, JP Roane had issues on
and off the field. All the scholarship kids are all staying
