beginning of Q1. mccaleb sweeps into the high crease, sidearm
high to high. 1-0 BU
aughavin crosscage feed to grell, wide open at 5 yards. 2-0 BU
pearson right wing, drives under and shoots high to the far
corner. 2-1 BU
mccannell on the wing, grippe curls out of the crease, lefty
overhand, turn and shoot low. 2-2
mccaleb backdoor cut from x, receives feed from cook and dumps
it in. 2-3 BU
BU flag, SB EMO. pickel to mccannell up top, low to low picks a
corner from 15 yards. 3-3
CVG at x, over the top to pickel cutting to 5*5, overhand
bouncer. 4-3 SB
lowd CT. BU flag, SB EMO.
it feels like SB is down 6-0; BU's intensity is killing us,
pressing out of the box almost to the midline, and rides are
causing TOs. bolly is keeping SB alive. all SB goals have been
stickside.

defenders lay off, outside shot. 6-4 BU
white at x, feeds to pearson on the wing, steps into a high to

cook to kniffin cutting near-pipe, scores on the doorstep. 7-5

SB flag, matsuoka offsides. BU EMO, SB clear.
CVG at x, drives lefty, wraps just above the GLE, no look
bouncer at a low angle. 7-6 BU
rockefeller drives the pipe, feeds opposite to grell, picks the
far corner. 8-6 BU
bolly making saves. but SB can't clear.
goss save, clear to fast break, moshyedi shoots a bouncer on the

x, feeds left wing, pearson lefty from 11 yards. 9-8 BU
conlon wins the draw, BU flag. SB EMO, goss save. SB ride CT.

grippe picks for CVG, sweeps from x and threads a 5 hole. 9-9
bolly save, clear to estrella, juke and upfield to o'leary,
shoots in traffic, rebounds, shoots & scores. 10-9 SB
mccaleb gets a mismatch at x, gets topside and shoots high at
123. 10-10
conlon flag (push), bolly two saves, 052. BU EMO.

o'leary blocks a shot and clears. pearson inverts, slide goes
under, he goes topside and low to low.

the bad first. we had some FO trouble, but aside from #s, even
when we win the draw we sometimes lose the ball- mental errors,
bad cradling or stick protection, violations. trail checks (i
counted two) are a cardinal sin- especially for veterans.
the penalties* were mostly mental errors. they tired us out in
a fast paced game.
BU is a good team. the pressed us all over the field and we
looked a bit gassed at times. some clears failed.
mccaleb got off 17 shots, aughavin 12. we are making a habit of
this.
-
the good- pearson is becoming a go to option. mccannell is
showing more tools. when teams focus on haun, we can work from
up top. i love grippe off the bench, he and CVG are
multi-tooled players.
our opponents have terrible SOG% (~half), forcing low angles
(mccaleb 6/17; aughavin 2/12). could be the shot clock era but
still.
game ball goes to bolly but o'leary and pearson are right there.
we don't win this game without bollinger saving everything
within reason. 22 saves in an OT game? that' somewhat
preposterous.
*EMD was 4/4. lowd had a nice game. in a few years, you'll see
him, ronan, sabella anchoring our D.
pace of play is exciting and more loose (though, not as lose as
the brownies!). opening it up will pay dividends with the shot
clock rules.
we are 2/2 in OT (only three games!). x
PS: SB, hartford, BC, bingo, vermont, ualbAny, mass lowell ALL
WIN- and mostly doubled up.

saw the fourth quarter of the nova/hofstra game, they hung in
there with a very good villanova team. just heard that hof lost
a starting attacker to injury.

either way should be a good contest and i wouldnt be surprised
if tierney gets off 15+ shots against us. GO SB
