Okay, so let me not get overtly excited but I just want to state
that this is our first three-game winning streak over DI teams
since the 2009-10 season. This streak also comes at the same
period it did in the 2009-10 season. Is this going to be a
breakthrough like the 2009-10 season or a 2010-11 type season. I
am sure hoping we can recreate the 2009-10 season once again.
I'm excited for how this team is playing.
I was close to losing all hope, but the up and down's is what
makes basketball exciting. Go Stony Brook!!!

for bear. That being said, if both teams play their best you
win. Vermont wants a slower paced game that allows them to
control tempo. Decent 3-point shooting, and the usual advantage
in rebounding are musts for you to win. I'd like to see you
push the tempo and try for some easy transition baskets. I also
think you have an advantage with Rapier scoring down low. Depth
may also come into play in the second half. I see SB winning by
6, something like 63-57...

Real good call on the final score, Quickdraw. What are you, like
some sort of genius? ;)

^^I Just noticed. Very close there. Quickdraw has a lot of
knowledge of collegebasketball. I like having him around!

Thanks guys, but I could have just as easily been wrong, in
which case I'd look like a complete idiot! At any rate, if you
make some free throws and UVM doesn't get the last couple
meaningless buckets, it's a double-digit margin.....to me, that
is the way your team has to play in order to win the conference:
very good defense, production from the frontcourt
(Rapier/Brenton), and someone else in the backcourt scoring
besides Dougher (Coley). Before it's all over, you will need
one of the following to get back to giving consistent production
(Jackson/Bracey/Joyner). Defense usually keeps you in most
games, and there are a couple teams in the AE that rely solely
on their ability to score (Albany/Maine/BU to some extent), so
if you are consistent defensively, you will be in every game.
Your ability to shoot the ball consistently will be the
difference in winning and losing the conference,
IMO........finally, SB has more depth than any other team in the
AE. You have players who gave you virtually nothing last night
who are capable scorers, as they have shown either last year or
earlier this year. That depth should prove helpful as you get
into the teeth of the conference season....oh yeah, now I see
what all the talk was about concerning Brenton. He is truly a
"glue-guy", the player that does all the necessary things to
help a team win (rebounds/steals/energy plays/take
charges/etc.). Until the last few games, I was wondering about
all the hype, but I see it now. Playing him at the 3 position
works for me. Very few 3's in this league will out-rebound him,
and I like having more size at the power forward position. Of
course, all this doesn't mean anything if you slip up and lose
Thursday up at Binghamton!

I was quite happy with what I saw last night. Vermont made it
close a couple of times but we pulled away and Rapier really
impresses me. A completely different player that last year.
