WOW Just WOW!!. Another few years of rebuilding with this
program before any stability again. SB is a stepping stone
school for coaches to move up and out into a more stable,
midmajor school. I still say SB needs to try their hardest to
make that leap out of the AE, and even the CAA, and into a
higher, more respected conference. A10 for Basketball would be a
start. It's not like the school doesnt have the resources to do
so.
Having two different head coaches in his college years is hard
enough..I wish Yeboah all the best with his BB career.

Unfortunate but can't blame him- not a good feeling going onto a
3rd coach for sure. Also he's 22 which puts the clock on him.
Obviously I'd love for him to stay but we have some solid
players that can step in for him next year. Garcia can fill his
void nicely. I think Jules Moor showed a lot of promise. The
team won't be as good without him but I'm not sure if it will be
a giant drop-off. Ideally if we can grab a good coach maybe he
can grab some late recruits to fill the void.
Anyway I'm rooting for Akwasi- was a class act from Day 1 here.
If he changes his mind and stays I'll be thrilled.
Getting a good coach will mitigate this loss though

This is an old link from 3/22, when he first registered on the
transfer hub. This is not new information, and since Akwasi
registered, Heilbron came out with Boals' statement, saying that
Akwasi has not decided to leave yet, and is leaving that option
open. So for now, he's still with us.

I kind of view this transfer portal as being similar to a player
entering the NBA draft but having the ability to return to
school. He can go but it doesn't mean he will.
That said, I think he will.
The transfer market is red-hot right now. UMass lost half its
team. There is some good talent out there. If Yeboah transfers,
I wonder if we can capitalize ourselves.

I feel like a stalker and this could mean absolutely nothing,
but Yeboah and SMU assistant Jay Duncan recently followed each
other on Twitter. From my experience, it's been an easy way to
find out the connections that people are making – Almonacy,
Campbell, etc.
Before saying that this wouldn't be much of an upgrade, don't
forget that the AAC put four teams in the tournament this year.
Again, could be nothing.

SMU would be an interesting landing spot. They're a couple years
removed from a top 15 finish in both polls for basketball.
Assuming these last two years have been rebuilding seasons,
plugging in a player like Yeboah could put them right back near
the top of The American if the team around him is solid. It
would be quite interesting.

Nice find, Checkmate. Boy, I hate that term "stalker" - my kids
use that too in the social media context. I call it excellent
research.
Although I'm sure Akwasi could step into that program and
probably get some good minutes, that team will finish no better
than middle of the pack. He'll play in a bigger arena, but I
don't see a lot of glory for him there.
To me, his choices are stay at SBU or go pro now. I'm obviously
hoping for the former. Why transfer when you are on the verge
of greatness here in the AE, have unbelievable chemistry with
others on the team, and have the entire team back except for
Cornish (but you are gaining Foreman). And do you want a bench
player role in a P5 like Cremo and Nicholls had this year, where
alternatively you can still be the man at SBU?
Akwasi, are you reading this? It's SBU or going pro now.
Selfishly, I'm saying stay at SBU for one more year. Finish
what you started here.

A beat writer from Wichita State named Taylor Eldridge claims
that Akwasi is being courted by the following schools:
"Programs like Wichita State, TCU, Rutgers and SMU have been
after Yeboah the most."
Anyone have any updates on the truth of this rumor, and what
Akwasi is thinking these days?
