Campi, i believe with the new redshirt rules Coan will get 3
more yrs to play. Thats what was explained during the bowl game.

He has two years left (and the redshirt backup and hotshot new
guy are both good). He played a few games two years ago (prior
to the new rule) and the Pinstripe Bowl (his 5th game) cost him
year 2. He did not dazzle Badger Nation.

I was at the 1st Spring Scrimmage yesterday now I know it's only
the 1st one but I was happy as the hitting was just as hard as a
regular season game.
The QB's all looked good and even though there was sloppiness at
times they all played well. In fact both sides of the ball
played very hard.
SBU has signed two transfers one from Ball State and the other
from South Florida and have two more coming in soon so that will
bring experience to a very young team
The new coaches that have been hired are very seasoned and will
really help this squad develop

Thats great to hear Campi. How did Joshua Zamot look.

Joshua Zamot looks really good and would not be surprised if he
plays this year. A few years ago SBU was going to bring in a QB
from Nassau CC Zamot reminds a lot of that player.

Glad the QBs look good. I suspect whoever wins the job will be a
clear step up from Carbone and will make everybody wonder why
whoever it winds up being wasn't playing sooner.

Why was Carbone an SB starting QB for as long as he played
remains a mystery to me. The only thing I can think of was, Pay
for play. Though, I seriously doubt that was the case.

I did find it curious that we had a quarterback with a subpar
arm (for high level FCS) and subpar (for high level FCS) legs
running our offense last year. Even though we are a running
team, any CAA QB should have either a strong arm or foot speed
(both, if possible). If he is replaced by a running QB that can
throw if he has to, that'll be an upgrade IMHO.
That being said, Carbone was a tough and experienced competitor
last year. Those two adjectives mean a lot to our head coach.

[quote]Quarterbacks Tyquell Fields and Jack Cassidy have looked
very good through the first three weeks of drills. Both have the
ability to use their legs and put pressure on opposing defenses.
I'm also excited about running backs Ty Son Lawton and Isaiah
White.
