Tough loss. I suspect we’ll get a CIT or CBI invitation which
I’d gladly take.

Not sure when it will be, but the next SB basketball game I'll
watch will be if/when they make the NCAA tournament...have a
nice summer everyone.

Not super surprised here. This was a weird season. Early on they
showed their potential, and then seemed to get progressively
worse as the season wore on, especially against bad teams in
conference play. Even so, they still went 24-8. Could have been
much worse

Well there was one of those wacky AE tournament upsets I said
I'd been missing for awhile....
Ugh. And probably cannot be stressed enough that losing to
Binghamton was embarrassing, and unfortunately just adds to the
legacy of underachieving/disappointments for SBU men's
basketball.
Credit Bing. They packed in the zone and SBU simply didn't shoot
well, as is regularly the case at home for some reason. And if
you run a motion, schoolyard offense and hit your shots,
well...that ain't exactly something you can counter with a solid
defensive strategy. If you flat out cannot guard Sessoms, which
nobody could, you're in for a long night.
And by the way, can I take back my previous comment in another
thread that I'd take Latimer over Sessoms?
Congrats, Bing, and go beat the Cats. Thanks for all the smart
thinking here, good summer all, and I guess try again next year.

What's comical about any anti-Boals post is that he's much much
much more likely to leave for a better job than to be shown the
door. I don't think either will happen, but with 24 wins, a
nation's best 13 on the road, a second-place finish in the
regular season, and all this with just one senior, I'd say
that's a job well done.
But this still sucks. The first 25 minutes of the game were just
jaw-dropping. 53-29? Really? Sessoms and Show just showed me a
lot – they knocked down so many shots to stem the tide,
particularly Show in that second half. I've always thought he
was a gunner, but he was economical tonight. I didn't think they
could sustain their shot-making but they did.
And Fred, I'm as guilty as you are the Sessoms/Latimer
comparison. The former was a force tonight, and the latter was
largely invisible on the offensive end with the guards pressing
up. It's now three straight games and seven of the last eight
where Latimer didn't reach double digits – a big difference from
the start of the season. I've appreciated his effort on defense
in spite of all that.

They didnt show up and choked as they have done before. Like

Better teams out there to root for .

Exactly. I said all along. SB peaked way to early and other
teams caught on and SB couldn't adjust. They played like a very
young team this year with way to6 many turnovers and unnecessary
bad shots. Anyway, it was an entertaining season to say the
least and I think SB will be even batter next season.
